Always a good ambiance, with a lovely outdoor eating area in the summer, the food is always well cooked and nicely served.

We ate here tonight and thoroughly enjoyed the meal, initially we tried to get a table for two adults and two kids but the terrace was completely reserved and told there was no room. We then asked if we could sit inside and were shown...indoors, make sure you ask as it does not appear to be offered and book ahead for the terrace. I had a burger which was huge and really nice and juicy and it came with chips and a small salad. The kids (10 & 6) shared a Margarita pizza which was huge and really tasty, it was all eaten. My wife had the Moules Frites which she said was lovely and finished them all so must've been decent. We had three cokes and a large glass of the house red and it all came in at 53 euros, more than happy to pay that and would definitely return for another meal. The food came out relatively quickly and the place was full-up both inside and out by 830pm...therefore if you haven't booked get there early. The three ladies serving were all very busy and whilst it could take a while to get their attention and they weren't perhaps the cheeriest trio...it was understandable as they were very busy. All in all I would recommend a meal here as wide variety of pizzas, burgers, some seafood, pasta and decent house wine...just booked ahead for a terrace table.More
Stayed locally for two weeks and visited here three times - always good food and generous portions. Children's meals (Pizza, burger and fries or chicken nuggets and fries) good quality for €8-€9. Burgers on the adult menu was excellent as were the pizzas, happily recommended.
A well established restaurant in Duras, Chantal has been running this for many years! We have been eating here gor over 20 years and never had a bad meal. Wide variety of choice on the menu, particularly like the Gambas, huge prawns in garlic and...parsley. Served as a starter. But more than enough for a main! It does get extremely busy in the summer, with the tables in the courtyard, you may have to wait a little longer to be served.....but that is to be expected! Especially on a thursday with the nightmarket. In the winter the restaurant is warm and cosy with the fire lit.More
Our party of four arrived around 12.30, when we asked if there was a plat du jour we were ‘non’ yet when other people arrived after us they ordered plat du jour (we know because we asked the diners themselves) We once again asked if...we could have plat du jour, we didn’t fully understand the reply but think we were told it had to be pre ordered. If this is the case it’s the first time I’ve ever heard this, if we misunderstood we still don’t know why we couldn’t order plat du jour. We live fairly local but won’t be revisiting. The food was OK, the gin & tonic not cold enough.More
We had a pre booked table of 4 persons, arriving at 12.30pm but were told that the Menu du Jour was finished. Two other tables were filled after our arrival and you guessed it they had the Menu du Jour, when we complained we were...told we should have booked it if that’s what we wanted,. The food was edible with soft floppy chips, Service was extremely quick , the atmosphere was good with a nice log fire.More
Good food, good people! Easy place to enjoy. The traditional recipes are based on local yummy produces. Love the sunny place in summer or spring.
Although I think the Don Camillo is very good and reasonable for an evening meal in this part of France the best part of the restaurant is that is it open Sunday evening. My last visit I have had a pepper burger with bacon( ask...for well done crispy if you like it that way) which was without a doubt excellent. They have a variety of pizzas, lasagna and other full meal dishes. Salads are recommended. This restaurant is very popular with area French resudents especially of a certain age. This is a subjective view. The service is friendly and warm. You do not thane to for your meal forever. The dining area inside is good in that even when full is overly loud. Weather permitting the outside patio is charming. And it is open Sunday evenings.More
Stopped in here for lunch and ordered the omelette. I had the cheese whilst my partner the mushroom. They were quickly served and tasty. We complemented with a glass of rose and coffee. The whole came to just less than €30 and was good value.
Good French cooking generally, the staff can be a bit rude from time to time but then so can some of the customers.
