We went to Vins & Flots at various points during our holiday, one morning and evening when the annual wine festival (Côtes de Duras wine fair) was on (11-12 Aug 2020) so the town was packed with visitors and locals alike (maintaining social distancing) and...really liked the vibe. There is lots of pavement seating and an outdoor bar. Would recommend this place for some chilled drinks in the warmth.More

Traveling the area and looking for a place to have lunch a bit late after noon and the staff made room for us. Vins & Flots is a French bistro with a United Kingdom twist. The staff speaks both French and English. This bistro supports...a local sports team so expect to see rugby or football (soccer) on the TV. The menu reflects the bar with the daily specials on a chalk board. There is a good selection of wines and beers. We selected the “Salade de Saumon “Gravlax” and the Terrine “Maison” to start with. Our entrees were Faux-Filet Charolais and AXOS de veau pommes de terre bouillies (the Chef did an excellent preparation on both of these dishes.) For dessert the crème brûlée. This sports bistro was a great find with a friendly and helpful staff and delicious foods.More

After visiting the Chateau we needed lunch and this was the only place open. We're so glad it was as we might not have selected it. The place has a great bistro atmosphere and you can sit outside or two areas inside, either in the...bar area or another room which is more restaurant. We had the fixed price lunch of 18 euros for three courses. The demi of rose was only 6 euros, a bargain. The food is excellent, plenty of it and a nice selection. It looks like a husband and wife team with help. The eife sounded English so was able to converse in English if you wanted otherwise it was French. Very friendly service and we would highly recommend Vins et Flots if in Duras.More

I was surprised by the friendly "English" welcome, the quick service, the fine quality, and the fair prices. I give the 5 point because of the high stardard in all parameters. Of cause you can find better food, but the ouef mimose au thon was...beautiful served and very tasty two. My wife got a wonderful salad with "gravlax".More

We were staying at a nearby vineyard and asked them to book a table at Vins et Flots which seemed to be the only place open on a Wednesday evening. What we didn't know at that stage (although we were warned before we set off)...was that Wednesday nights are Fish & Chip nights. We were warmly welcomed to the busy bar and shown to a table in the adjacent restaurant. The choice was limited - the alternative to fish and chips was lasagne - but it seemed churlish not to go for the fish and chips on this special night... And so it came complete with mushy peas and tartare sauce just like at home - except the batter on the fish was a bit soggy as were the chips. One of us followed up with ice cream and we accompanied the whole with a very acceptable half-litre of house white wine. A fun experience! Not surprisingly, there were lots of Brits - more surprising was that there were any French people there at all! Good value though, at 38 euros all in. We were here on 5th June.More
