I have visited Les Ducs several times during the last 40 years....it never fails to please. The family welcome, the delicious food, the civilised dining room all add up to a wonderfully pleasing experience ! I have just enjoyed a fabulous lunch there and even...during Covid restrictions and a reduced menu it was faultless. Please visit and help to keep family businesses like this going and ensure that we can enjoy more happy times in the future......More

An elegant, family run restaurant with a traditional hotel ambiance (quiet, warm, and with a nice garden to stroll in) the meal was excellent and nicely served by the young waitress. We have also eaten there with a group for a celebration lunch which (although...pre-ordered due to the numbers) was equally appetizing. The local Berticot and Duras wines are also good value to accompany the meal.More

A nice dinner Arrived into town by walking 5km from Plum Village and spent the afternoon. The restaurant was recommended by the Office of Tourism and some local people. We had the veal and duck dishes as we as the pork. All the meat was...good and well done as per indication but not very fun of the accompaniment - some sort of omelet and sweet pear. The wine was very nice, recommendation from the owner. After dinner we did not find a taxi to take us back to Plum village but the owner has offered very kindly to take us. Very nice family business place with very nice people, recommend if you are in town.More

We went to des Ducs to celebrate my friend's sisters Silver Wedding and we were not disappointed. My friend and I had duck breast and it was the best I've ever tasted - soft and just pink enough. I can't remember what the happy couple...had it just seemed we were all enjoying such a good celebration in a lovely setting with superb food. Can't wait to go again when I'm in that area. Top marksMore

It is some time since we last visited the HostellerieDesDucs We took some french friends who had not visited before The food as always was excellent, well balanced, and a good quantity. We drank a bottle of local Duc de Berticot ( a very good...reliable local wine) The service was exemplary I do like this restaurant and we are always very well treatedMore

Having eaten here previously we decided to visit for a belated lunch celebration, which turned out to be a mistake. The starter of goats cheese in filo pastry was more pastry than cheese. As for the faux filet, this was almost inedible being full of...gristle. There are far superior eateries around which offer much better value for money.More

We had three courses, main, dessert and cheese which was a set menu for 39€. The meal commenced with an amuse bouche of pumpkin soup. I had the beef which was cooked perfectly and came with a devine pumpkin mousse and caramelised onions, my partner...had scallops with parsnip purée and said it was amazing. Dessert was equally as lovely. The portion sizes were more than enough, so much so the cheese course was unnecessary. The wine list was extensive and locally produced. Our coffee came with an extra treat of creme brûlée. The service was friendly despite the fact that we don’t speak french and the wait staff had no English, but we managed. The menu has English under the french description. The only negative was the service at times was a little slow but not such that it distracted too much from what was a fabulous meal. Highly recommended.More

We were excited to visit the restaurant at this hotel for the first time. We had been told about the delightful traditional style dining room and the gourmet food. Our party of four were walked through the closed and only partially lit large dining room...and shown to a table on an adjacent (partially) covered exterior terrace. Fortunately it was not a cold night. Our welcome was formal and without any warmth or smile. Apart from our own, only 2 other tables were occupied. This was surprising for a Friday night, when most local restaurants are usually full. There appeared to be 3 reception and waiting staff, who spent most of the evening taking the few orders, serving them, and then standing in line, stony-faced, at one end of the terrace watching us all eat. It was quite depressing and made us feel uncomfortable. There were several set menus ranging from 28€ per person for 2 courses to €50+ per person for more choices and more courses. The dishes on offer were not particularly "gourmet" and most were available at other local restaurants for less money and much less pretention. This being a region where duck dishes are fairly standard fare, I chose to start with a foie gras terrine followed by slices of magret de canard in a "house" sauce. These were all dishes available elsewhere at restaurants in the region at lower prices and with a better atmosphere. The food was served in a pretentious manner with the waitress pointing to each item on the plate and explaining, in a somewhat condescending fashion, what it was - as though we could not see the food for ourselves. The portions were quite small - a re-emergence of "nouvelle cuisine", perhaps. However the food, although fairly tasty and suitable cooked, was far from gourmet and far from being worth the prices charged. It was average and expensive for what it was. The same would apply to the menu choices made by my wife and our 2 friends. We were disappointed and are unlikely to return - but we do now understand why the place was so poorly patronised on a Friday night.More

The welcome, the service, and the food were all first rate. The wait staff were courteous and patient with us as English-only speakers. The food was ample and oh so tasty. Lots of extras, such as a tasty appetizer before our entree and a sorbet...between courses. Reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I highly recommend a visitor have a meal here.More
