When our tour guide suggested this restaurant as we were on our way to tour Sto. Domingo de la Calzada, I was skeptical of how good this restaurant was, given that its located in a quaint rural town. We were hungry for it was then past lunchtime so we just decided to take our tour guide's offer. Lo and behold,... More

The menu had a very good choice of traditional dishes at very reasonable prices, the food was very well cooked which out of interest seemed to come out of the same kitchen as the two Michelin star restaurant which was also part of the hotel.

Traditional Spanish cuisine, excellent service and a massive wine list - this is a great restaurant well worth the drive. The croquettas and the meat balls were amazing, the fish soup and lamb were also fantastic. Eat here, you won't regret it.

This is a very special place with very special food. We booked the table when we were checking in. My son had grandma's meatballs, I had a special fish dish and my husband had the deer. We had some entrees to share. All was very delicious and special. We asked our waiter to select the wine to go with our... More

Fantastic seasonal, local food, cooked to perfection. Very good wine list. The service is without fault. One to remember and so come out of your way for. The lamb is really tasty, definitely try it!

The tour guide at R Lopez de Heredia recommended Echaurren for lunch. The drive from Haro was only about 1/2 hour and very picturesque. The traditionally prepared food was superb, especially the croquettes which melted in your mouth. Service and atmosphere were very good. 22 Euro each--a bit pricey for a 'normal' lunch, but this was a real treat and... More

We were a bit put off by the cost of the Michellin star restaurant so settled for the traditional option. The food was very good but somehow it felt odd to be served base Spanish food in an up market restaurant setting. That said, the food was really very good and plentiful. The wine list was epic and very reasonably... More

Ezcaray is a small alpine town (on the way to a ski field). Echaurren Tradicion is probably the most upmarket restaurant in the area and comes with a reputation that precedes it. The owners son is the head chef at the Michelin starred Marques De Riscal. And she (the mother) serves many of the same menu items without the same... More

Extraordinary product, extraordinary plates and good ambient in this traditional restaurant the has adapted to the new times without losing its essence. Plates are satiating and perfectly cooked. The wine list is very interesting and you can drink good wines but not very expensive. You can't miss this restaurant if you travel to Ezcaray.
