I went there because of the location (just next tu the Unesco Site "Sa Nuraxi"). The decoration and advertisement outside already tells you that you are entering in a "tourist" restaurant. The service was Excellent and Helpful!! The food, just average. Functional. Nothing outstanding, but I don't regret, specially because there's nothing better around. If I was in the area... More

Really bad produces, for over priced dishes. We ordered tagliatta, the meat was not edible as it was low quality meat with a lot of fat. Also they charge 4 euros per gramm, and in the bill it turned out to be 17 euros (or 425 g). A complete scam! Not mentioning that pasta was overcooked.

The restaurant is right opposite the Su Nuraxi site. It is spacious and cool with sparing mist so great venue to escape the heat. Staff is friendly. Alas the food is really awful: mozzarella tasted like plastic, tomatoes were tasteless, and steak required jaws of steel! Btw, this is also a pizzeria which only serves pizza in the evenings.

First, wonderfull welcoming staff. Restaurant is big and well mainteined. Very good feeling. Second...the food. It was delicious. We had the ravioli with pasta and cottage cheese and they were...WOOOW. Best ravioli we had on our 2 week trip through Sardinia. The child had a milanese steak and pommes, which was also very good.

The title says it all, the location is right in front of the Barumini UNESCO World Heritage site, and it si nice but the food is just average so the prices are high compared to what you get. Terrible bread, soem fot he appetizers are not soi good and they tend to charge you for a full fixed price menu... More

They are seemingly a bit too spoilt by a lot of tourists coming to Su Nuraxi and by absence of competition. When we were there all the food was below average level for the region. Salads were a disaster. Tomatoes which we asked for were green. Seemingly the only food to be chosen at theirs is pasta. Meat, fish and... More

Very deeply nested in the local Sardinian cuisine, and with some unique recipes available, "Il Cavallino della Giara" enjoys an excellent location, in sight of the "Su Nuraxi" complex (http://www.fondazionebarumini.it/wordpress/?page_id=146&lang=en) and makes an excellent complement to the guided tour to the most relevant prehistoric complex in Sardinia. I strongly suggest "Sa Petza Imbinata", marinated pork fillet with wine, laurel, rosemary... More

Verry nice. We have been with two teenagers and pasta (ravioli di Ricotta e bietole) was excellent. Our kids recommend it for everyone :-) !

It was my first taste of Bottarga and was fantastic. The fresh vegetables and frigoli were also wonderful.

As part of our days tour together with Francesco and Silvia of "sardiniatouristguide" the four of us on our first Sardinian visit lunched at this restaurant. We anticipated maybe a "light bite" but 4 plus courses (enhanced by superb local wines) and 150 minutes later we took our leave. Fantastic service by a jovial and hardworking waiter and mouthwateringly delicious... More
