Best fish and chips on the island. Thin crisp batter, fresh fish, crunchy fries. Expansive menu, covers all the favorites.

The fabulous food offered from a varied menu is only surpassed by the friendly and attentive service. Thanks to Brooke who was cheerful and accurate in getting us all the adaptions we requested to our choices. Our group enjoyed breakfast and lunch selections on the...roomy and shaded patio, looking out over the Salish Sea. The hit was the avocado and shrimp sandwich on a croissant, with a side of salad or soup. The outside space was lovely on a sunny day, but there’s plenty of space inside as well for the cooler days. We learned there is often live music on offer too, and are eager to check that out. We combined our lunch date with a walk on the delightful Lighthouse walking Trail, located virtually adjacent to this eatery. It is an accessible trail for strollers and wheelchairs. At the restaurant there is adequate parking, and the restaurant is fully accessible to people using wheels to get around.More
Such a cute cafe and patio has a view of the ocean! The menu has a great selection of laid back home cooked food. It all tasted fresh and you can tell a lot of love goes into this business. The service was also great!
Awesome breakfast. Highest quality ingredients. Ham, bacon, bread. Large portions. Looked and tasted as if it was all "Home cooked with care and attention". Friendly service. Will visit again.
lovely setting next to the ocean, friendly service, great food. Relaxing cozy restaurant for Eggs Benny.
Service is always very genuine, fast and polite Food is really good and the prices above all else are actually reasonable and fair. Great for lunch but the supper menu after 430 is by far the best value for your money anywhere in this area...and Comox Valley tooMore
We stopped at this restaurant on a road trip. The location and the food exceeded what we expected. Everyone enjoyed their meals, portions were generous and tasty. We would stop here again.
I stopped here for lunch while being a tourist in the area. I was hungry. It was open. And in my experience a lot of these older places often have good food. The place looks like a bit of a dive from the outside, but...inside it was "homey". They had a good selection on their menu, and I went with the Horn Lake burger. It was a buffalo patty with BBQ sauce. I was a delicious burger, although it was a bit light on the BBQ. The fries were good. The waitress was very nice and efficient. I read in another review that the prices were a bit high, but prices seemed to be in line with other places I'd been to on my trip. Everything is more expensive now due to shortages, etc. I sat inside for this meal, but they have a beautiful deck out back with views of the water.More
Doesn't look like much from the outside, but they serve excellent food. We sat out on the deck at the back overlooking the ocean.
Whilst driving from Parksville to Campbell River, we took a chance at stopping for breakfast at this roadside cafe. Wide menu choice and delicious food, with tourists, like us, plus locals all tucking in. Good value for money,
Blandish food. Average at best. A bit overpriced for the portions served. Full of locals because there is no other place to go without driving at least 40 kms outside of a taco stand & food truck just around the next bend Slow service, only...one server, no smile or welcome, empty table by window we wanted were told was not ready, yet it became available for another couple immediately ?? Felt rushed to leave. Condiments removed while still dining. We were still finishing up and not slow eaters! This was a third visit. I honestly cannot recommend it at all & won't be back. Oh and the flooring inside slants, but can be considered charming by some I suppose!More
Don’t let the appearance of the exterior deter you. Service is friendly and efficient. Some of the best fish and chips around, but that’s not all. Appears to be well visited by locals. Quaint decor with local artists work displayed on the walls. Reasonable prices...and generous servings. Very accommodating for various dietary requests. Would not hesitate to recommend.More
Usually, when we go to the Sand Bar Cafe, I order the Mussel & Coconut milk soup, which is divine! But the other night, the special was Halibut Cakes with Veggies! They were awesome! It was a very generous serving, and the Halibut cakes were...delicious! My hubby had his usual cutlets, which is also a very generous serving! This restaurant is not fancy, but the service is friendly, and the food is good!More
Easy parking, excellent service, extensive menu, indoor or outdoor seating with an ocean view, reasonable prices. A favourite whenever we're passing through the region.
This little cafe was recommended. It is a nice old house with a pretty "backyard" patio. The service was good despite the restaurant being crowded on a warm sunny day. The "signature" fish and chips were great and arrived in a reasonable time give the...capacity crowd. Well worth going back on my next Island trip.More
