We ordered the shepherds pie and the banquette burger both very good. The burgers both came with huge plates of fries. The cheesecake was good but came frozen. The owners talked to us the whole time. Very friendly and nice stop in.

From checking in to leaving we enjoyed our stay. The restaurant has a varied menu and the food is so good Try the signature sandwich.. it will definitely surprise you... Our room had everything we needed and there is wifi too. Situated near Marten provincial. Beautiful spot and good fishing.

Would give it 0 stars if I could. Went sledding with a bunch of buddies and stopped in for some food and a room for the night. The owner was rude to not only us for no reason, but to another group of people and also his staff or family he had working for him too, which made things quite uncomfortable for some and is completely unnecessary. The rooms, food and pricing was all ridiculous for what we got. Rooms were subpar, the food was even worse and he obviously doesn’t care about any of it. Wouldn’t even think twice about it again. Go ANYWHERE else.

D1431VomichaelT based on the date/year of your review you must have our business confused with another or you are posting false information just for the sake of trying to leave a bad review. Our accommodations are under construction and have been since 2020 so you could not have possibly stopped for some food and a room for the night let alone experienced a sub par room.

Fifth time here. Arrived at 11:30 am and was expecting to have lunch...nope...breakfast only. So had egg sandwich unimpressed. Others had blt more l than b or t. No refill on coffee. Owner hasn’t ploughed out driveway. He blamed “highways” for putting the snow there. About 1 foot of snow and we got stuck with a trailer. Owner also blamed us for not having a 4x4 truck —-duh!! So last time there. Not worth the drive....

Liz based on the date of this review and comments made, you were obviously here during the OFSC free trails weekend which is one of our absolutely busiest times of the year because 3 trails intersect on our property. During the winter, as a courtesy to the 90% of our clientele who arrive by snowmobile we do not plow right down to pavement. Usually this does not cause 2 wheel drive cars or trucks too much of an issue, unfortunately, this year there is an ABUNDANCE of snow, more than most locals have seen in over a decade. On this same weekend we had a crew in to remove 3 feet of snow/ice off the roof of the motel. Later a backhoe was brought in to clear all this extra snow including the build up at the entrances to the parking lot from the road plows. Sorry you got stuck in the mess of snow before it was cleared. As for your other issues, we have not switched from serving breakfast to lunch items before noon since shortly after we took over ownership, all our menus state this, if you have been here 5 times I would think you'd be aware of this by now. Free coffee refills is a courtesy we provide when we have time to make extra rounds on the tables. Many establishments (i.e. Tim Hortons) do not provide free refills. During busy times (like the date you were here) it is not always possible to make extra rounds with the coffee pot as frequently as we would during other less busy times. All of our items served with lettuce (sandwiches/wraps etc) always have lots of lettuce. Our BLT's also have 3 slices of bacon, most places only have two. Even items served with fries have an huge quantities of fries with it. Our generous portions are one of the features most people like about our food. Alas, despite our best efforts we can not always please everyone, especially during the extremely busy times like the date you were here. We hope you find another establishment that is able to cater to your needs and wish you all the best.

We were looking for lunch on our way home from northern Ontario and happened across this little place. We ordered omelets since it wasn't too late for breakfast. The were a little short staffed during our stop, but that didn't detract from our experience. Everyone was pleasant and really trying to hustle to keep up with the patrons. Our omelets were good enough, if not maybe just a bit overdone. There was plenty of food with the three-egg omelet and a nice helping of home fries. The bread was extremely good, and appeared to be homemade but we didn't ask. Everything was good and we were glad we stopped at this handy little place right on Route 11.

This owner has big planes for this place but if they don't lower prices he won't last long. Place is always empty when we go by at meal times. As I said expensive for what you get.

Thank you for your review Margot. Yes we do have plans to restore the entire property to its former busy glory days of the 70's, 80's & 90's. We're proud to say there are already days were there isn't a seat available in the restaurant nor an empty room in the motel and lines of vehicles looking for a parking spot. Being located in a very seasonal dependant area of Ontario you may be driving by during one of the slower shoulder seasons. As I'm sure you know hydro rates, food costs, wages, and many other expenses have risen for everyone over the years and small businesses also have to adjust their pricing in order to continue to operate in a cost effective manner. Food for thought - perhaps the reason the entire property was in such poor repair is the owners over the last few decades weren't charging enough to maintain and upkeep the place properly. Significant and numerous health & safety items (most behind the scenes not initially noticeable to customers) have been addressed and fixed with more upgrades underway. In the restaurant our food servings are generous, priced accordingly and per our research very comparable to similar menu items at similar establishments. We also ensure our over night guests are fed whether the restaurant is open to the public or not, sometimes accommodating requests as early as 6 am and as late as 10 or 11 pm . . . a service other restaurants, resorts and camps in the area do not offer. If you know the area then you know there is not a whole lot available without driving at least a 1/2 hour. Our guest appreciate this service and the convenience. Additionally, there is more to the Rock Pine property than just the restaurant. We have 1000' feet of water front, a motel unit, cabins and camp sites with the most amazing views and sunsets for our guests to enjoy. All of which needed significant work when we purchased the property. Since we have taken over ownership we have hosted many a returning guest who have loved the numerous improvements we have made to the entire place. We've welcomed new faces who have driven on by for years and only stopped now after hearing rave reviews. And yes, we've also said goodbye to previous patrons who didn't mind its run down condition preferring its dirt cheap pricing over its state of repair. Unfortunately, like any business with new ownership, we will never please everyone 100% of the time but we are striving to bring the facilities and operations up to a standard most will enjoy and will prefer to return to. Again we thank you for your comments as it provides us an opportunity to address our customers concerns.

The Rock Pine came highly recommended and did not disappoint! Rode up from North Bay on great trails and stopped for a hearty lunch and a little bit of fuel for the ride back. The lunch special (fish) was good and the portions were generous.

Stopped in for lunch on a trip to Ottawa and this place was a great choice. The "Rock House" clubhouse is a delicious sandwich and will fill you up. Lots of good menu choices like burgers, dogs, fries, rings etc. Great views of the river from in the restaurant and the outdoor deck. Just look for the giant walleye out front.

We have been enjoying RPM breakfasts and lunches for years, and were not disappointed during our late June '16 lunch stop after leaving North Bay for the lake. The deck provides a beautiful setting for a riverside meal, but if you want to duck the wind the inside, elevated dining room has great views as well. In the Blue Sky region we hanker for burgers, and got three on this occasion. Carefully made and served with a smile, we once again were grateful for this way station we look forward to visiting. We'll be calling in a breakfast order to pick up as we head down the highway in a couple of days!
