Nice little lunch spot in Marten River. The poutine was oustanding, and you could get a couple other lunch items as well. Both hard and soft icecream on premises.

Incredibly good people and exceptional food. The burgers are almost too big to eat (but there is always some left over for a late night snack)!

2 cheeseburgers, deep fried pickles and large onion rings were 45 bucks. I wont est there again. The food was decent but not better than harveys but more money and no drinks either. Save your money

They have a large selection of hand dipped ice cream. You can have a waffle or cake type. Cone or enjoy the ice cream in a shake or sundae..the hamburgers and pogos are a really good also

...., GREAT LITTLE FAST FOOD RESTAURANT!! Reasonable rates and HUGE ice cream cones!! Nice access for handicapped people. Good food!! Lots of parking space and CEAN!!!

We stopped by their place of business twice during our stay in the Marten River area and had one of their regular (and it was large) ice cream cones each time.

If you need a quick meal this is the place. This business with the one next door it is like having a shopping mall in the middle of the bush.

After a ride from Longlac to here I was tired, I stop here every year after the Biker reunion also, I had been looking so forward to a burger and their great fires for hours. I was convinced by the staff to order a Lumpy burger. So I did and WOW much more then I wanted to eat, I still had a 60 km ride to complete for the day, The included fork with a Lumpy burger was a great idea. Trust me you will need it.
In the 6 years I have attended the Biker reunion and this trip the food has always been top quality and the service always fast and friendly never an cause to be disappointed.

Excellent place for a pit stop north of North Bay, ontario. The burgers are good, the poutine is also good but the best is the ice cream.

Good value for your buck! Had the fish and chips, ate chips for three days...a HUGE portion. Wish I had tried them sooner.

the owner served us and she acted like she was impaired. The food for ex poutine fries were over cooked as they tasted burnt and like old oil. There servers to busy smoking and taking care of there children instead of working. This place was not worth the time to stop or waste your money. I now drive right by this place and go to the next restaurant about 5min south

I am very sorry for your bad experience but No one here smokes for one and no one that works here has children. I am not sure if you have confused us with another chipstand but I would certainly appreciate you coming back for a meal on the house of course at your earliest convenience. Thank you very much for your comments though, we love all good and bad comments...it makes us get better at our service and food preparation.

Best chipstand I have ever eaten at! Our family are regulars here in the summer as we stop in when we head to our cottage in Temagami. We have been going here for years and though the name has changed now and then, the food has not. When you place your order, you can walk on over to the Marten River Trading Post, fill up with gas, sit down in the chipstand building, or outside at the picnic benches. You will find a variety of items at the Trading Post from jewellery, clothes, alcohol/beer, food, coffee, and so much more (my husband loves the homemade tarts). At Lumpy's you can choose from a variety of foods (ice cream, deep fried pickles, healthy choices like wraps). The food alone is fantastic and WAY better than those Sturgeon Falls chipstands! The service is fast and friendly. When you stop in, don't forget to say a big hello to Suzie. She is the sweetest thing about Lumpy's Chipstand. You will want to come back for the food AND for the friendly service from Suzie. She treats you like family. Best thing is...she always keeps the vinegar bottles full.
