The name Restaurante El Gran Mirador accurately tells the story of this eating establishment. The Restaurante is located just above the Solola market a short 5 minute walk at best. When you walk in your are faced with floor to ceiling glass walls of the Restaurante offering a 180 degree view of Lake Atitlan and the surrounding hillsides. The Restaurante... More

We stopped here on our way down from the highway to Panajachel. The view is just amazing. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee. Service was excellent as well. We also got the opportunity to meet the owner, a very nice person to have a chat with!

As you arrive to Solola, you'd be tempted to continue to find a better view over the Lago Atitlan. Well, there isn't! The surroundings are breath-taking: six volcanoes, the lake, Solola... And the family is lovely. Don't forget to try their coffee while enjoying the view.

My family & I had the opportunity to have lunch at El Gran Mirador Restaurant on Oct. 9, 2014. The view was unbelievable, the food was excellent & the service was great. 4 "STARS" until I received the bill. I paid with American Express Credomatic (they had a large sign saying they accepted American Express Credomatic). When I got back... More

Food was good. We had grilled chicken and veggies with watery mashed potatoes. The fried plantains were a hit. The delicious lime aid was my favorite. The bathroom was in demand after a three hour trip from GC and it was tiny and almost inaccessible for an average sized person. There is never any toilet paper in this wonderful country... More

The view is stupendous, can't be beat. Clean, with an extensive menu and some of the best food we've had in the country for a very reasonable price. Easily accessible on main road from Guatemala City/Antigua to the lake, but still very quiet inside and not affected by the traffic outside. Super friendly staff. Well worth stopping by on your... As we were driving to lake Atitlan, coming around a corner, we see this restaurant and stop! And what a pleasant surprise…the view is wonderful and we totally enjoyed our meal. Highly recommend the El Gran Mirador…but go during daylight to enjoy the view!

We visited this place with a large Team that was in Solola installing a water purification system with Living Water World Missions. The meal we had was great, it was reasonably priced, and the service was awesome. Can't beat the view. Highly recommended!

I have been enjoying this restaurant for nearly a year. It opened in time for the mercado in Solola to move into its new location. El Gran Mirador is the best and closest restaurant to the market/mercado. The owner has provided an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Appetizers and light plates start around 25 Q or $3.00 USD.... More
