Unfortunately as it was just after Xmas there were no other guests, so it did lack a bit of atmosphere. However the hosts were very friendly and had good sense of humour. Deep fried Brie to start was fabulous, as were the fish goujons. Two of us had rib eye steak - which was pointed out to us was cheaper... More

Excellent accommodation. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were good and the staff friendly and welcoming. The evening meals were tasty and good value for money.

We called in here after a bike ride for Sunday lunch. The place had changed hands and has been very nicely refurbished; the bar has been reduced in size and the toilets have been ripped out and replaced. We had the turkey lunch which consisted of two large slices of very tasty turkey, a pig in blanket, four kinds of... More

Stayed for one night. Shown to our room and heater broken so they went out to buy another one. Nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly and breakfast to die for. Hidden gem

Stormy night and hungry, stumbled across this pub at 8:50 in the evening. Despite most pubs stopping serving at 9, this little pub made us feel very welcome. Took our order, and food on the table within about 15 minutes. Food home cooked, and exceptional particularly for that time of night. Most pleasant staff, nice decor. Would highly recommend, and... Went for Sunday lunch and it was pretty awful, the mashed potatoes were cold and lumpy, the Yorkshire pudding burnt to a crisp and the beef tasteless. And at £10.95 each we could have got much better at Wetherspoons. We complained, but still had to pay the full amount, as the owner sat next to the front door and ignored... More

Four of us stayed here overnight as we were attending a wine tasting event at nearby Swinton Park. Our rooms were lovely and spacious, extremely comfortable beds with nice white bed linen, very clean and quiet. We had an evening meal which was very tasty and the full english breakfast was fantastic. The owners and staff were very welcoming and... More

Having had new owners in for only a few months the pub is undergoing a massive facelift and looks vastly improved. Food is excellent and service attentive and professional - well worth a visit

Fantastic break in an amazing room, arrived to a warm welcome from the owners. Dinner was cooked to perfection I had mixed grill and my partner the ribeye. My partner totally recommends the cheesecake for desert. We stayed sun and mon so quiet but cosy and everyone is very friendly. I really can't believe how gorgeous the room and the... More

Smallish pub in a small village (Burneston) where you have to watch out for flying darts as you come in from the car park! The bar is a lively place to meet locals and enjoy a pint or two. Meals are served here and in the dining room. The menu is limited but has a good variety of well prepared... More
