The locals seem inordinately proud of this place, but really its a fairly ordinary cafe with two special things going for it - 1. Very good coffee; and 2. Its location by the beach on the undercliff walk - but watch out for the birds...(gulls and crows) that will try to steal your food. No sign of anyone called Molly.More

Stopped by for lunch with my parents, shame the cafe was having an issue with the card machine and staff looked very stressed. Food was mediocre but they were doing what they were able. 5.60 for a potato and tuna seemed steep but unsure what...the going rate is at the moment. Staff seemed friendly even though stressedMore

The food at this cafe is like no other and the cappuccinos are one of the best in the world, and I have travelled to 70 different countries and tried coffee in each. I should know. Some may call me a connoisseur at the coffee...arts as I pioneered the great drink of coffeeMore

1. When asked by an 8-year-old what the flavour of one of your (several) unlabeled ice cream is, the reply 'I'll tell you in a minute; I'm just dealing with the payment' doesn't speak much of care for customer relations. There also doesn't seem to...be much of a reason to request details for payment to be made upfront... unless you're expecting customer dissatisfaction perhaps. 2. When serving ice cream in a cone, it's generally considered to be (more) hygienic to place a paper napkin around the cone so that you're less likely to be handling it with unclean hands. When you're serving ice cream in a cone to a child, it's absolutely crucial. After all, you've had a good couple of years to practice so there's really no excuse. 3. One scoop? Are you sure this is what you're serving?? Even the six-year-old commented, unprompted, on the fact that there wasn't enough ice cream. Rather than number of scoops, perhaps a system of sizing similar to clothes should be adopted...XXS, XS, S for example. At this point, payment up front starts to make sense. 4. Why don't you know whether or not your products contain eggs? Do you know which contain nuts? Thought so. So why not eggs? The ice cream window around the corner displays this information nice and clearly (see photo). Not so at Molly's. Anaphylaxis be damned. 5. Service with a smile? Sadly not. Still, who can be bothered at the end of the day?More

Shame, for some reason (covid apparently???) you cant use your own mug, takeaway cups only. Not good for the environment and we prefer to drink out of proper mugs/cups. will go further along where you can take your own mugs. x
