What does it take to make a good pub? It's not that difficult. Good ale, good food and good staff. All set in a great location. The Plough Inn has all of these and more besides. The Sunday Lunch and the theme nights are well worth a visit. We enjoyed American Wednesday!

Loved The Plough. Service was friendly and surprisingly fast given how busy they were. I think we were probably lucky to get a table without booking as they are obviously popular for Sunday lunch. We enjoyed our food very much. The roast dinner was spectacular, far too big really but we soldiered on and ate it all! Wish we lived... More

When I made the booking the lady on the phone reserved the steak for us as it was steak night, and they didn't want us to miss out, on arrival we were seated with menus, my partner opted for a different meal however... Had a very nice evening at this pretty pub. However found it difficult to get served at the bar on arrival - not made to feel welcome.

Had a lovely evening meal here. Food and beer fantastic and the staff were great. I had, whitebait to start, followed by duck and pheasant ( which was really nice) and then key lime pie to finish. Great ! We went into the bar after the meal and this was pleasant too, locals playing darts and we were made very... More

My father and I stumbled on this local country pub when I was looking for somewhere to host a family reunion to celebrate his 90th birthday. My father immediately fell in love with the place, saying that it was a "proper pub" and I had to agree that The Plough has a lovely atmosphere and is traditional, cosy and inviting... More

My husband and I visited the plough this week on the spur of the moment knowing we should be able to get a table as it was only 6.30pm. It was very quiet when we first arrived but got busier as the evening progressed-as ever the food was great and the staff were pleasant, polite and friendly. The service was... More
