We adore this place, the warmth of the staff the gorgeous rooms, the marvellous wines and phenomenal foods. So we were back for a birthday treat. Breakfast is a treat, with home made black pudding, jams, breads, spiced fruits. And of course Montgomery is such...More

I went with my family and our friend and had the 8 course taster menu. The food was brilliant and the service we received was excellent. We had a perfectly relaxed evening and came away completely satisfied. I really recommended Checkers for that special night...More

Every course was even better than the last. We went for the wine flight also and every wine complemented the dish superbly Lovely ambience and gorgeous comfortable rooms. Highly recommended for a special night away.

The tasting menu is both delicious and varied, the wine list has wines for all tastes and pockets, the staff are delightful. All in all one of the best dining experiences -- and not just in the UK.

Beautiful, classical French cooking at it’s best, just what the docteur ordered! Nice, simple and unpretentious decor, classically decorated for Xmas, accompanied by friendly, polite & knowledgeable help from the staff (particularly Madame). That an espresso cup could hold such variety of cauliflower velouté flavours...More
