Called in on my walk and was not made to feel welcome. It was before the lunchtime rush so I was just in the way. This is not typical of Lovely Pubs because they usually do everything so well - especially The Boot. So, no smiles, just rather curt service doing the bare minimum.

Yet again we had a fabulous lunch here to welcome in the New Year. Delicious food, excellent selection of drinks, great service and and fantastic value as well (effectively £40 per head for 3 courses and wine). A short review, but it says it all. This really is an excellent choice, I only wish we visited more often!

We came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and were glad we booked as it was full! We were sat at the table next to the fire, which was nice at first on the cold day but was soon unbearably hot. Luckily there was a spare seat to move to on our table. Risotto, pork belly, chicken and lamb... More

The Crabmill was the venue for a wonderful New Year's Eve wedding reception. The wedding party had exclusive use and a marquee in the grounds. We were welcomed into the bar area with champagne and delicious canapés. The Crabmill is so lovely in winter with open fires ,candles lined the way outside to the marquee which was just beautiful. The... More

Went to the Crabmill on Monday, we don't go very often as it is very far out for us coming from South Staffordshire but it is always worth the trip. Although very busy, the service was still as good as when it is quiet. The food was delicious, definitely not your typical 'pub grub', it was well presented and attention... More

Just before Christmas - visit with good friends. Lively, good atmosphere and staff excellent. Refreshingly good service from a young but capable team. Meal excellent. Not gourmet presentation but really enjoyable. I had the confit duck which was excellent! Looking forward to another visit.

At first a little confusing as there were 3 menus. In the end we all chose from the Christmas menu. Everything was good. I had the mushroom starter and lamb main, both of which I thought exceptional. The Christmas pud was also tops. Service was good and everywhere was clean and comfortable. One to return to.

This is a really good pub/restaurant with a heavy emphasis on comfort and excellent service. The open fire in the bar area is ideal for a cold winter's evening! The quality of food and drink was high and prices were, for the area, reasonable. There really isn't a great deal not to like. Thanks to all who contributed to making... More

Our 8th annual pre-Christmas get together where the north and south families come together! Whilst it is familiar and known it's always a pleasure to visit this comfortable and atmospheric inn. Dealing with a party of 18 ranging from 5 to 80 is not easy but yet again the unassuming and very helpful staff were well up to the challenge.... More

Constant food quality and service even though it was a new group of antipodean waiters and the waiter said perfect at least twenty times. I will continue to go regularly

This charming traditional country pub and restaurant has an unmistakable warmth about it, as seen in the furnishings and the menu. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, while the overall impression is of a pub which is comfortable, light and open. The lounge area has sumptuous tub chairs clustered in conversational groups and among the interestingly themed rooms is the New “Chocolate Rude room” with slightly risqué caricature pictures. Each room has its own individual appeal and any can be reserved for private diners. We are in our tenth year and to celebrate, come and see our refurbished al fresco dining area! The Crabmill is Good Pub Guide Approved and has won awards for food and wine. The Crabmill has also been selected for inclusion in the UK’s top 50 Gastro pubs with The Independent.
