Very quaint Cornish village, did not have high hopes for what we might find but this was a star choice. Chef makes everything from scratch, simple pub food with real wholesome flavours. We all tried the homemade soup, was excellent and a warm welcome to us all - certainly a team setting out to do a great job and delivering... More

Great ambience and a lovely young couple serving behind the bar and from the kitchen. Food was fresh and very tasty and the ale was good too! It was darts night and it was lovely to join in with the locals - a really vibrant pub!

Pleasant pub that servers food, we didn't eat there but has a separate room for dining that looks out over the river. Bar area has a big screen that allows the showing of football, rugby etc. Six Nations, Italy v Ireland on when we called in - stopped for a couple as a result. A St. Austell Brewery so has... More

I had just ferried and walked from Falmouth and was looking for a place to find some hot food as I was meandering around the South West Coast Path. It was a lovely evening and I had planned to wild camp a little further along the path when I came across this pub. I had just intended to have some... More

Whilst staying at the Lugger hotel for 6 nights we fancied a change of food and scenery so popped to the Ship Inn (few mins walk away) and had a super meal and few drinks. Pub grub very tasty and filling and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and fantastic memorabilia of Portloe on the walls. A must to visit if you're... More

good selection of St Austell supplied Ales. Cosy atmosphere on a dark Winter night. Not open all day so check the opening hours before you visit. This is the only pub in this quaint harbour village.

However the fish and chips and the sandwiches all looked amazing... I... More

We were staying at the local hotel and wanted a different venue for a night. We had some freshly cooked food and enjoyed a few beers with some friendly locals. The food is good pub food well priced, in the winter the opening hours are reduced but I guess in the summer you will need to book in advance. Good... More

Had dinner here with my wife on the way out from Gunwalloe. Place is a common traditional English pub and for us Italians we really liked it. Great beers and I had my favorite Cornish Korev. Food was nice and as someone else had already mentioned a litttle bit too pricy, maybe because of the "posh" location. At the end... More
