We visited the Red Lion as a lunch break while walking through the Chess Valley. We had a wonderful meal, and I couldn't fault the food, drinks or service. I often feel a little underwhelmed by British pub-grub, but the Red Lion has an exceptional...More

This public house and restaurant is now under new management and the owner is trying very hard to provide great service, however we went there last weekend in a party of 4 and although the staff were friendly, the service was slow, they were not...More

The place is very pretty and the atmosphere is nice. Food is ok, don't expect anything super. Service is extremely slow and not well curated, we did wait 1.30hrs for our mains. A lot of basic requests like water, bread and cutleries were forgotten.

We went out mid-week looking for some good pub fare and to be honest, we found it. The Red Lion is in a good location, not far from Rickmansworth. We had been there before. The evening we chose however, was a little bit quiet. There...More

Nice pub but pricey (6.50 for a sandwich), but kids are absolutely not welcome and not the most friendly to adults either..saw others with kids being turned away even if they sat outside..probably wouldn't return Bedford Arms next time

Please could you tell me which brewery this pub is under these days. My grandparents (Jim & Hilda) ran it in the 50's and 60's and I would be interested to know. Thank you.
