Fabulous food, great beer all at a good price. Usually I hit the specials board, eg. Matured Roast Beef, Hot & Spicy Chicken or Farmhouse Mixed Grill. Today I was hoping for Steak & Sausage Pie, this is the best pie I have had ever,...succulent cubes of prime steak and quality lincolnshire Sausage in a gorgeous thick gravy. Today, one of the specials was battered haggis which intrigued, but, I settled for hunters Chicken salad, chips and peas. As usual, quick service and great. The sweets are to die for !! Special Today, honeycomb cheese cake, about 6 inch thick. The beer is constantly good and coffee class. All in all, the best pub grub we have ever found and two for 12 quid.More

For my daughter's 30th Birthday we all came together (parents, grandparents, boyfriend and sister) We decided apon the Angle Inn, as she lives there. The staff were fantastic from the moment we arrived (we had dropped off a few table decorations) and my daughter was...made up over it. Being a pub, it's a case of going to the bar to order, which wasn't a problem as we quickly ordered drinks and then mains. The food is unbelievably good, the portions large, and the price again, unbelievably low!! The staff were attentive when required but discreetly absence when we were eating. I can't speak highly enough about the standard of the food (mine was homemade meat and potatoe pie) and the deserts were also very very good. At no time did we feel rushed, and even with the pub filling up for the local pool matches it was still a great evening. One last comment, top praise lady behind the bar who served us, she had all the banter which just added to the experience. We will be back again.More

My mum rang me yesterday to say my sister had taken her there for lunch yesterday afternoon. Took them an hour and half 50 get dinner and a dessert with 12 people in. they waited a long time for dinner and then ordered 3 desserts....Was taking quite a while so my sister asked how long was it going to be, to which they replied they were busy and had the washing of pots to do. Fantastic customer service? I guess thats why not many people inn and my sister and mum wont be going again. This is also after the previous a couple of months ago when they sat outside to have a drink and meal and they can serve food outside. Ordered a drink and then tried to order food for outside. Said wasnt doing food outside as it was too windy. It was hardly windy at all. Very off, had just opened up and even though think it was the manager, go the response just couldnt be bothered. Can i say a good pub is about good products, quality of food and importantly treating customers well. in such a hard time for businesses, you would think they could try and get and keep customers. One way this is going.More

Lovely pub grub in friendly surrounding. Menu contains nothing but home made meals and boy can you tell the difference. Cost was very fair and the drinks are just as pocket friendly. Landlord and bar staff all friendly fast and helpful just the sort of...place one likes to visit when needing a stop off for a meal and drink when out and about. I have been to a hell of a lot of more xpensive places and been less satisfied so I strongly recommend it! I’m not sayings it’s a special occasion location for most people as it’s main job is a community pub but it does have a separate dining area. I expect it to be a regular stop off for some time to come JohnMore

Dropped in for Sunday lunch a while back and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly, the food hot, tasty and good value, as were the drinks. The place was spotlessly clean and I would heartily recommend it.

We came across the Angel by accident as we had planned to go elsewhere and it was full. We went in and their menu is great. Fresh veg and salads. Great value, and not the microwaved rubbish you find in some of the big chains....We love it so much we go there most weeks. There is always a specials board and their fish and chips are the best value I have ever seen. (cheaper than going to the chip shop and you don't have to do the washing up )More
