Having been to this restaurant on numerous occasions. Today, I booked a table last minute. Surprised that I got a table that quick for a Saturday night. We arrived to a cold pub. However, the staff were polite on entry. Staff took the drink order which came not complete. No water. We decided to have starters of Tomato soup. After... More

Good Afternoon Sir/Madam, sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your time with us. Although the soup may have not been to your liking, I can guarantee first-hand that a 35 minute wait was not experienced for soup, and your main course followed within 20 minutes. We had 40 people dining with us that Saturday evening and food was being... More

After a very good previous experience at the Wheatsheaf we revisited with family from Ipswich. We were all delighted with the service, quality and quantity of the food. Its so nice knowing we can recommend and entertain at this well decorated comfortable restaurant.

booked this pub as had a previous good experience, so as I was celebrating a big birthday I booked 2 weeks in advanced for 24 people, asked the guy who took the booking if he wanted me to get pre orders to which I was told no as there wouldn't be a problem, 4 days before our meal I sent... More

Good evening, sorry to see that your weren't happy with your birthday meal, it is clear after this experience that a pre-order for large parties on Sundays will be necessary to avoid this happening again. Sunday lunch here at the Wheatsheaf have until now operated on a first come, first serve basis meaning later in the afternoon the roasted meat... More

Tonight a group of 8 friends took a trip to the wheatsheaf for a birthday meal. On arrival at 7.30 I thought to myself it didn't look too busy for a Saturday night which was odd. Later on we found out why. We ordered drinks and ordered food once they arrived, 45 minutes after we had ordered our food or... More

After visiting tonight with 7 of my friends for my birthday I expected more. On the website the menu looks great but we arrived to find that 3 out of 4 of the starters were not available. A polite waitress tried to assist but was uncertain of the answer and kept having to go and check. We had no starters... More

We made a booking for this lunchtime, the only tables left were in the bar as the restaurant was full. After ordering our meals we heard the staff explaining to other customers there was a wait of half an hour, unfortunately we waited 1hr for fish and chips if we had known we would not have stayed. People who were... More

We went in on a Friday evening. There were a few people in but the place was not busy. The food was nice, I had the salmon and prawn starter, and then the sausage, mash and root vegetables. The service was quick and friendly. The Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen beer was drinkable, but tasted past its best.... More

Thankyou for your feedback, were glad you enjoyed your visit! The ale is unfortunate as we did change the Speckled Hen on Saturday afternoon last week, We do get through the ale at a sufficient rate to avoid it spoiling, but the quality can fall towards the end of a barrel as Im sure you know. We look forward to... More

This was a lunch time break for a large walking party. The snack food was well prepared and to a very high standard. Everyone was very satisfied and the meals were well proportioned and with side salad.
