My husband and I have been visiting Newfoundland and Labrador every July for about 25 years. We were lucky in finding that not only can you eat at the restaurant, but there are also rooms to stay in.. One year we stayed in the Bernier...room then we stayed in The Loft with an amazing view of the ocean from our floor to ceiling windows. Both rooms were beautifully furnished. I can't say enough about how friendly and kind the owner and staff are. We arrived late just as the restaurant was closing but they fed us anyway and with a smile. The rooms are great and the food is delicious. Thank you. There is also an extensive gift shop in the restaurant.More

I'm not going to lie. I was worried about what the food would be like here. I don't like fish, so that eliminated a lot of options. The chicken and fries I had were amazing though and this was the best meal in a 2+...week trip. Well worth the stop, but it does close early.More

The restaurant is next to the Red Bay Interpretation Center. The artifacts inside the restaurant reflect the Basque Whaling past so there are interesting things to see throughout the restaurant. There is also an extensive gift shop attached to the restaurant. The fish & chips...were excellent and the service was great.More

Had the recommended fish and chips with an Iceberg beer. Both were good. The restaurant is adjacent to the Red Bay Interpretation Center so you can kill two birds with one stone: have a meal and visit a World Heritage Site. The interior is homey...with lots of wood. Pick up and pay for your drink before your meal.More

We had lunch here twice and enjoyed the food each time. We had the battered cod sandwiches and they were some of the best we had in Newfoundland and Labrador. The service was good. The restaurant has a very good gift shop and we did...some shopping while our lunches were being cooked.More

We ate here after visiting Red Bay Historic Site. We were starving and this restaurant was fairly empty. I had pork chops with mushrooms and onions and my husband had cod. Portions were ample and my pork chops were delicious. Servers were very friendly and...fast. Even though they may not have competition in this town, they do an excellent job. They had a boil order when we were there so we had to get bottled water. Our meal was very tasty.More

This is a great little restaurant in red Bay Labrador. It is just about the only restaurant in this local. The did fish and chips well and also a cod plate as well. It was well organized and the food was tasty and we received...quick service to this popular local spot.More

Heading to Battle Harbour(Labrador) for last day of their tourist season and stopped for lunch in Red Bay at the Whaler's Restaurant. Big banner on the wall indicates that they are known for their Cod & Chips. So...had to have the cod. To let you...know how good it was...on the trip back to NL stopped again to have the cod for a second time. As a west coaster I do not eat fish & chips much. Way to much batter. The batter on the cod at the Whaler's was so thin I actually took a picture. All fish...all good...x2. Excellent meal. Recipe is a well kept secret. Give it a try if you find yourself in Red Bay.More

This might be the only restaurant in Red Bay. Drive right out to the water and you can't miss it. Very friendly staff with several Labrador/Newfoundland dishes. I recommend the fish and chips but please have dessert they use local berries and its amazing.

We visited Red Bay late in the season and most enjoyed the history and learned a lot about this location. We had a late lunch and the restaurant had only two other tables in use. I would image it is very busy at the height...of the summer. The service was good and our lunch better. We enjoyed a chowder and chalupa fish & chips, the house specialty. Both were very good.More
