Food was really good. They had fast service even though we were a large party. Most people got the amazing crunchy and perfectly cooked fish. Don't be afraid to try the newfie poutine. And, my mom could not understand how the pork chops could be so tender that quickly.
The restaurant was interesting to look around too as they have it decorated in the theme of the site.
All and all a good time out with family!

Very enjoyable dinner break on our travel up the Labrador coast. Nautical and whaling decor, hugely friendly servers. We both had a garden salad with partridgeberry dressing, pork chops and perfectly cooked salmon dinners. For dessert we had berry parfait and partridgeberry pie with ice cream. Absolutely loved it.

Our experience at this restaurant was a highlight during our motorcycle trip in Newfoundland and Labrador. We happened to stop in at Red Bay hoping to find something open for breakfast. The people are so friendly and welcoming and the food was fantastic. We tried salted cod for the first time and were not disappointed. The décor of the restaurant feature antiques and displays which are all so interesting and beautifully displayed. We highly recommend stopping here if your visiting Red Bay or passing by on your road trip.

Cute little place next door to the museum. Menu is somewhat limited. Fish soup was good as was the fish & chips. However the serving size of the cold slaw served with the fish & chips was ridiculously small, barely 4 bites! Also, only water was bottled adding a lot to the overall price of dinner. Nothing outstanding but the only place in this small village.

We had dinner twice and breakfast twice at this restaurant when we were in Red Bay. The food was delicious! Everything seemed freshly prepared and the menu included local foods such as partridgeberry pie. They do serve beer, wine, and drinks. The staff were friendly and service was efficient yet relaxed - very comfortable place for breakfast or dinner. The fish and chips were amazing - I had them both nights and they were some of the best I had anywhere in Newfoundland and Labrador!

This place is excellent. We ate there many times as we stayed close by. The food and service are top notch. The fish as part of the fish & chips is the best we have had….period ! All the deserts are made in house and are amazing. If having a salad, the partridge berry dressing which is homemade is excellent.

We stopped in for lunch. The service was very friendly. We had the seafood soup and also fries. The soup was nice and hot and came with bannock. We have small appetites so that is all we needed for lunch. If you are gluten free or vegan there are not a lot of choice here.

We sailed into with about 180 and they were willing to serve us all in two sittings with their famous fish and chips. (Must try their Partridge berry pie)

We had a nice meal here with good service. It's right across the street from the Red Bay Interpretation Center, so easily accessible and a great place to eat.

I ordered their signature Chalupa fish and chips and my mom ordered the porkchop.
I was so amazed that my mom who normally doesn't finish her meal actually finished hers and was raving about her porkchop with mushrooms! Mostly likely because she hasn't eaten rice in a week now!
The Chalupa fish and chips was great. It had a different texture compared to the other fish and chips I had in the island.
So overall, the food quality was surprisingly good in this remote corner of Canada! It may be the only known restaurant in the area, but the quality is still pretty high! Well recommended!

My husband and I have been visiting Newfoundland and Labrador every July for about 25 years. We were lucky in finding that not only can you eat at the restaurant, but there are also rooms to stay in.. One year we stayed in the Bernier room then we stayed in The Loft with an amazing view of the ocean from our floor to ceiling windows. Both rooms were beautifully furnished. I can't say enough about how friendly and kind the owner and staff are. We arrived late just as the restaurant was closing but they fed us anyway and with a smile. The rooms are great and the food is delicious. Thank you. There is also an extensive gift shop in the restaurant.

I'm not going to lie. I was worried about what the food would be like here. I don't like fish, so that eliminated a lot of options. The chicken and fries I had were amazing though and this was the best meal in a 2+ week trip. Well worth the stop, but it does close early.

The restaurant is next to the Red Bay Interpretation Center. The artifacts inside the restaurant reflect the Basque Whaling past so there are interesting things to see throughout the restaurant. There is also an extensive gift shop attached to the restaurant.
The fish & chips were excellent and the service was great.
