We were staying on a narrowboat on the canal and booked the restaurant for an evening meal for 4 of us. We had been warned previously that the hill from canal to the Queens Head was a little daunting but we gave it a go...- not a lot of pavement but we got there. We had a superb meal - what a delightful place this is, only wished we lived locally! A great menu with lovely choices and front of house staff were unassuming and very helpful. The icing on the cake was when one of the chefs offered to drive us down the hill back to our boat - what a star!!! ✨✨✨ If we’re in the area again we wouldn’t hesitate to come here. Thank you Queens Head!More

The pub was very welcoming and happily moved our booking to a later time. Food portions very filling and tasty. Even fully for me who eats like a horse after the grand national. A wide range of beers on tap and our server Alan was...very polite friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.More

We visited this pub on the way home from a trip. It turned out to be one of those unplanned but really nice occasions. Pleasant and friendly service (without the faux "mates" stuff), an extensive food & drinks menu, and quick service (although to be...fair they were not very busy). We had Thai Fishcake salad, which was really nice. I would have preferred a bit more kick on the fishcakes, but that's my preference; they were fine as they were. The salad was "just pulled out of the ground" fresh. The Treacle sponge was just heavenly. So moist and tender and not over-sweet as is often the case. Eating one each was probably over-eating (yes, we were greedy) but we just could not resist! The pub has a lovely view out the back and the outside eating area seems nice too. We were inside, which was large and airy and very clean. Well worth a visit!More

We walk from many pubs and enjoy lunch after our walk. The food at the Queens Head was really lovely and the service from the young staff was outstanding! We felt very safe in these Covid days and very welcome there. Thank you very much!

We stopped here for a midweek lunch and were not disappointed. Beautifully presented and great tasting food. The service was very good as well. It has a nicely set out seating area behind the pub which has great views over Saddington Reservoir.

What a lovely place - location, service, food. Trudged up the steep hill from the nearby canal to this picturesque small village, in the heart of which is the Queen’s Head. Sunday lunch and a warm welcome and vibe. Perfectly cooked roast beef and all...the trimmings (including a small mountain of veg). Under £60 for two of us with a fine bottle of wine and a couple of pints. Could’ve happily stayed all afternoon......More

We were lucky to get a table. We love this place. They usually sell 'horseshoe' gammon but on this occasion it was a lovely thick gammon steak.'It's not the weight of a steak that counts but the thickness'. This one ticked all the boxes including crisped...fat and rind. My wife had scampi that was also good. This time we had deserts. The apple pie was good but I found the bread and butter pudding a little dry and tasteless. It was made of something like brioche and was not well soaked in egg custard. Just a matter of taste? We look forward to going again. They do take-aways too.More
