Recommended to go here after realising there’s a distinct lack of places to eat in Porthmadog on a Sunday evening. We weren’t disappointed and found it to be very busy with locals eating and drinking, Portions are enormous and good price and they make proper...chips rather than frozen ones. Outside there is a lovely area but it was a bit chilly to sit outside but there’s also a little play area for kids which looked great fun. Definitely recommend and seems very popular so you may need to book a table if planning on eating more than crisps.More

Hotel is well situated and has lovely views. Food seemed ok and value wasn’t bad We did have an issue with parking which others should take note of - our booking said it included free parking but when we arrived the parking was full and...there was nowhere anywhere nearby to park on the street, so we had to drive around and around for over 20 minutes searching for somewhere. Eventually we managed to pull into a ditch and get to the hotel but I had to go back later and move my vehicle into a car park space when one came available. This was ok for us as young people but would not be suitable for older persons or those with heavy luggage. I think the hotel should designate parking spaces for those with booked rooms , or do not offer free parking on booking.com. As I explained I booked the room specifically because parking was available and if I knew the situation I would have booked a different hotel. Additionally the bottom of the stairs leading up to the rooms had a very strange smell, and the room itself did not seem very clean especially the bathroom I think due to all of the above a 3 star rating is more than fairMore

We offer free parking as advertised, however we also mention that the car park gets busy during certain times of the day because of our local customers using our restaurant, and because of this we are unable to allocate spaces, the majority of places I...More

Great atmosphere pub. My family enjoyed their pie. I had to send my food back as it was overcooked. I had no hard feelings, we all humans, mistakes happens, mostly on a busy Saturday night, but it could be handled better. I understand that sending...food back is not regular in the UK, so they might not have a procedure to handle it. We can learn from every mistake:)More

AMAZING!!!! Thank you so so much. We booked as a very large table and there was a last minute change in plans with the rest of the party. Leaving only 6 of us at the table. The customer service was absolutely amazing they took care...of everything. Checking on us and ensuring everything we had was ok. The food was incredible, I highly recommend. We were given a table in the far corner of the bar , with very narrow bench seats , after being told it was the only one available. Strange as the pub was near empty apart from a few locals drinking at the bar. We...looked at the appealing menu while we had our drinks ( good beer ! ) but the few other customers were constantly using the door ( fire exit? ) adjacent to us for smoking breaks. The smell followed them back in and it didn't feel at all like a comfortable place to enjoy a meal - so we finished our drinks and left. Most tables were still empty as we did so. Hey ho. Another time, maybe.More

A strange review, you were sat in the bar next to the door, did you ask a member of staff for another table? Especially if as you said there were other tables available....I'm certain there would have moved you.

Evening meal then a night's bed & breakfast before the Ffestiniog Train the next day. Couldn't believe our luck, fantastic friendly staff, great dinner, comfortable room, marvellous freshly cooked breakfast. Lucky with the weather and able to use the outside area. I've always liked Butty...Bach Beer but was also a fan of their Cwrw Twrog which I'd never seen before. Can't wait to go back.More

We were a group of four. Stunning views across the outdoor seating and along the estuary. Service friendly and efficient. Dissapointed no wine list but choice of three reds offered. Didn't have starters but enjoyed mains. My salmon was as good as ever. Were asked...if we wanted desserts as plates for mains were collected - a little break would have been good. Desserts were okay. Four stars this time because of wine list but this is definitely one of our favourite and reliable local restaurants.More

Brilliant location as a base for exploring North Wales. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and the food , well that’s just absolutely amazing, all home cooked , big portions and so flavoursome and perfectly presented. We stayed in the cottages on site and everything...was easy going and private. The car park gets very busy at certain meal times as the place gets well used by the locals, but that’s a good sign. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this place and would certainly stay again next time I’m in the area.More

Stayed for 2 nights while we were doing the Go Below activity nearby (highly recommend btw) and the whole experience was fab. My best friend and I shared a King room which was a great size, overlooking the mountains and rear pub garden ( that...looked so nice that I’ll be back to visit in the summer) and had dinner and breakfast in the pub. The food was quick to come out and really tasty, the full English was just as I would expect in a fantastic Welsh pub, the service was friendly and attentive and all the staff were super cute! Would recommend 🥰More

After having many pleasant experiences in this establishment, I receive a rib eye steak cooked rare rather than medium rare as I requested, peas were cold , and the oven chips were overcooked to burnt , the best part of the meal was the vine...tomatoes which in my opinion doesn’t justify a £25 price tag, I flagged up that a pint of lager was missing from my bill only to be presented three day’s later with an inflated tab, I would recommend that people pay as they go, or confirm beer prices, I did challenge the tab only to be told to he beer had gone up, this didn’t equate to the price increase, needless to say I will not be returning to this establishment , maybe it’s because I’m English??More
