I wanted to have a meal which was typical costa rican fare and this is the perfect place for this. It gets very busy during peak hours.

We showed up at lunchtime on a Saturday and saw that the lot of full-ish - always a good sign. We were given the choice of sitting inside or out, and it was such a beautiful day, we at outside. The service was excellent and the food was great! It appeared to be equally composed of locals and non-locals. A... More

Tacos Tito. Pork chops. (Chuleta) camorones. Chiliguaro. Mostly locals and very good service. A nice place on the hill down to Santa Ana. They will take care of you!

This place was recommended by local friends. Good little "rustic" place offering reasonably priced local meals. We were atable if 7, all ordered something diffetent and all food was very good. They do amazing long island ice teas too! Worth a visit if you're in the area.

My advice for you would be to arrive at the Cebolla Verde with an open mind and allow yourself to be charmed by its complex simplicity. I did not know what to expect, but my skeptical expectations were definitely blown away immediately, independently owned by a highly decorated Viet Nam Veteran , not too much money spent on trend-bothering design,... This place is super close to our house and it is cheap, so we eat here frequently. The food is pretty good. My kids enjoy the fajitas de pollo (fried chicken strip pieces) and the hambergesa especial (cheese burger with ham). I like the pescado and I get it with beans instead of fries. The portions are big, so we... More

This is more of a bar than a restaurant, but it has a huge menu. Unfortunately, we went for lunch and it took us almost an hour to get served. It's saving grace were the tv's showing the Champions League semi's. But it wasn't overly busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff. I will say it's the worst... More

Good, friendly service. Great prices, easy-going atmosphere. Trash bin by the parking lot can get stinky, and there can be a lot of flies on the outside area. Food is so-so. Really oily. Rice and shrimp had stiff, not so tasty shrimp in it. More meat-based dishes I hear taste better. Beer and drink selection is the usual for the... More

Roadside place outside Escazu with so-so parking on a curve in the road. I stopped in for a beer and ended up staying during a downpour. I got hungry and ordered the cordon bleu. It was served with mashed potatoes and a few greens. I enjoyed it so much, I returned for it two more time during a 3 week... More
