Sometimes you find something which is so good that it redefines the category. The simple name "restaurant" doesn't do this place justice. When you eat at the Appellation is is an experience in the best sort of way. The staff are uniformly excellent. They are friendly and helpful and make you feel at ease in what is an elegant and... Waited 45 mins for 2 burgers. They were delicious but we shouldn't have had to wait that long. Their was no indication of the time our meal would take and no apology for the lengthy delay.

We had a table for two near the window. The service was excellent and the food was superb. Lots of delicate flavours and all beautifully served.

Our dinner was sensational. There was a blend of traditional items offered and some very creative items by the chef. Presentation was beautiful. The chef stopped by to say hello. The wine list was excellent. Our service was first rate.

We have travelled the world and dined at many fine dining establishments and this is our favourite restaurant in the Barossa. We had been here before, had high expectations, which were exceeded with this regional contemporary Australian cuisine. Firstly, the food. The highlights for me were the duck breast and the Bittersweet chocolate expresso icecream, passion fruit foam and wattle... More

What an experience! We were two couples celebrating wedding anniversaries, and this was the perfect venue for the decadence we sought to mark the occasion. We chose the four course menu with paired wine. The staff were attentive, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, down to earth, locals who knew their product. The sommelier was exceptional. She added a whole other level of... More

Description
Food, wine, luxury accommodation and a genuine welcome await. Just one hour from Adelaide and set atop a gentle hill, Appellation at The Louise is highly regarded as one of Australia's finest restaurants led by chef Ryan Edwards. With a passion for real, fresh local ingredients, Ryan and his team are guided by the rhythms of the seasons - harvesting from their kitchen garden, baking their own breads, butchering and curing their own meats - and see wine and food as the most natural of partners. A four course seasonal menu is available nightly, except on a Tuesday when it's Local's Night where our chefs choose your three course set menu. An award-winning wine list of over 400 listings celebrating local artisans, emerging stars and established masters offers much choice to guests. Surrounded by vineyards in a truly memorable setting, Appellation is a dining destination worthy of a detour. Appellation is co-located with The Louise luxury vineyard retreat.
