My wife and I shared one of the finest meals we have had in a long time. The restaurant is set in a beautifully restored period dining room that featured fantastic antiques. Despite the apparent formality the ambiance was casual and inviting. The food was well prepared, fresh and fantastic. The local wine was perfect with the regional menu. The... More

Had read about the restaurant in Rough Guide. And it was well worth the trip. The actual restaurant was closed but they had an interimistic set-up in the lobby of the hotel. Quite pleasant baroque surroundings with Mozart playing in the background. The lunch menu was excellent with 5 or 6 different dishes before the main course. Especially the carpaccio... More

Santu Lussurgiu is a small village quite out of the beaten track, but still worth a detour. At least for its food specialties: casizzolu - a cow cheese among those in the Slow Food list - and cow meat - the breed is called rossa sardo modicana. We enjoyed a set menu at Sas Benas and we were not disappointed.... More

We were staying near Cuglieri, and were booked here by our hotel owners. Having read some of the recent reviews, I was slightly sceptical .... I needn't have been!! I am not sure why there have been a few negative comments, but my experience of this place was first class. It is a little hard to find, especially in the... More

It's second time I have gone to the restaurant Sas Benas. After two years we have ate foods with local ingredients (casizzolu and ox red) since to the industrial"fregola" , apparently abundant appetizers, dry and tasteless veal Sardinian . If they continue like this, these days, will rush risks! It has gone from 25 € to 35 € for head... More

We had a nice dinner here. We did the half board - so the dinner, breakfast and room were all part of the price so it is hard to just rate the meal on value. It included a hearty meal - salad with beef, pasta, beef, and then more salad for dinner. All of it was very delicious, service was... More

Have been to this restaurant many times now, provides excellent quality food in an elegant environment with service that is professional, friendly but never over present. It is also excellent value for money. Not very easy to find this balance in this area of the island. It is hard to find a negative point. Sas Benas specialises in using ingredients... More
