We enjoyed a delicious ossobuco risotto, a salad and a carafe of wine for lunch. The risotto was passed through a cheese (I don't know what to call it) which resulted in a creamy, well balanced texture that flavourfully accompanied the veal. There was a generous helping of parmesan shavings on the salad and despite the meal seeming small, it... More

We came here for pre-dinner drinks and a shared plate of antipasti, sitting outside under the vaulted ceilings but open-sided structure of the passage way. Nicely lit, cosy and warm ambience with the lights of the gas lamps. Good drinks and delicious antipasto plate with speck, salami, chorizo, ham and bresaola. Friendly but a bit slow service. Wonderful risotto, pasta, salads, desserts. Very warm atmosphere and hospitable Sasha-the owner of the restaurant. Incredible lake view. My recommendations for business/family/solo lunch or supper.

This restaurant is a must, very good food combined with a very personal and professional service. Nothing is impossible and the friendly athmosphere created by the owner with his family pervades the entire experience. The location is top class just by the lake and the risotto is a must.

My husband and I on a rainy day in August decided to venture over to the quaint town of Morcote. After being completely charmed by the views and the fog over the mountains we decided to come what we came for - risotto. And boy, risotto we had! The food was completely amazing. We were charmed by our waitress who... More

I went with two friends last Friday for lunch at the Osteria dei Portici. We had their "risotto", that I expected perfect, it was "average". The service was pretty good at the beginning, after we have finished eating we have wait 40 minutes (!!!!) for the bill.

Located in a small "restaurant row" near the Morcote ferry boat landing, this lakeside establishment serves very good unpretentious food in a relaxed setting. The steaks are tender, the risottos are the real deal, and the grilled full-bodied calamari is nicely seasoned in garlic and oil. The menu is quite extensive and includes a nice selection of pizzas (none of... More
