I lived in a nearby B&B in Gimmelwald and had dinner at Pension Gimmelwald for 3 nights. Its located very close to the cable car station and also easily walkable from rest of Gimmelwald. One needs to let them know ahead of time (for folks...More
Wow the Mönch beer is amazing if you like dark beers! We also had a great cheese and meat plater. Not much else in the food department but for drinks it’s gold. Stop here after you do the hike from murren to Gimmelwald. Great outdoor...More
The beer is famous, delicious, and as you can see in the picture it is decent sized (1 liter). The view is spectacular and it is well worth to hike down from Murren or up from Stechelberg (that hike is very much off the beaten...More

Pension Gimmelwald serves good, basic, family-style cooking. Frankly, the only other eat-out option in Gimmelwald is to get a whole pizza at the hostel next door! Or, go up to Murren where there are more restaurants as well as a grocery store. Dinner at Pension Gimmelwald is served every evening at 7 PM (Must let them know early in the day if you want dinner so she can cook enough food). They usually are open through mid-October when they take a break before the winter ski season.
They are open daily through mid-October. Dinner is served a 7 PM and you must let them know ahead of time so they can prepare enough food..... good, basic, family-style meals. They have a bar area, but I don't know how late... More

They have a bar area, but I don't know how late it's open. However, this is not a late-night-party-scene type place at all.... just a big, funky, old traditional farmhouse operated as comfortable inn.
