Great pub with superlative sea views from the beer garden. Comprehensive seafood menu and good service despite being busy during Easter. Recommended.

I needed somewhere for an early lunch after cycling from Felton. The Fishing Boat Inn wasn’t open by the time I got there, so I pressed on to charming Craster. The café opposite the Jolly Fisherman was doing a roaring trade and this meant that there was no room on the patio for me and my bike. I saw a... More

Visited on Saturday 15th April. Have been many times in the past. It was very busy being the Easter holidays. There were 3 people behind the bar: a very friendly smiley lady and two others who gave the impression they really didn't want to be there. Getting served was a nightmare as they had no clue as to who was... More

We visited here twice while walking along the coast. It's a busy but very well run pub with a good selection of food options although vegetarians are not really catered for (just soup). The fish dishes are really good - great crab sandwiches, a tasty fish board and the lobster was delicious. The service is very smooth and lots of... More

My daughter and I visited this pub for a meal on an incredibly busy Easter Sunday. The crab soup was really excellent, but when the main course came my daughter was very upset to find ham on the ploughmans she had ordered. She had specifically asked for it to be without meat as she was a vegetarian. The lobster was... More

Dropped in for lunch after the pilgrimage down to Dunstanburgh Castle and after consistent drizzle we were well ready to eat. Crab sandwiches and crab soup the main orders and all were great. The pub was heading so we're lucky to grab a table but the staff were helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

Visited on Easter Thursday lunchtime. Very busy but surely not an excuse for an awful ham sandwich in shop bought sliced bread, no butter on the bread and a thin slice of ham, tiny portion of cheap coleslaw and crisps. This chain sells itself on good food and we are happy to pay extra for good quality but this was... More

We thought this pub was spot on. Good menu, prompt service and well presented appetising dishes being brought out from the kitchen. There are quite a few other pub/restaurants in the area that could pick up some tips on service and presentation here. My only criticism would be the wait to get served at the bar but that is more... Lovely looking pub and fantastic location but food is not very good quality. They present the menu as if it were high quality food but it is in fact just standard pub fayre at quite a high price. It's a shame as we made a big detour to visit the pub. They were also not very friendly or accommodating, saying... More

Visited with the family and brother-in-law's family. Crab sandwiches were very disappointing- expensive and very very little crab in very ordinary brown bread. Mussels were again expensive for a very small portion. Fantastic location on the quey side, beautiful views, lovely pub- good beer. Pity about the poor food.
