We believed that the food would be amazing after reading reviews but sadly the food was even less than mediocre at a very high price. The deck menu was very minimal and NOT deck prices. The staff were helpful but abrupt and actually made it...More

Went to the grill night, where it is a cheaper menu. The food didn't live up to even the new lower prices. The food was clearly all brought in, the chips had a weird taste, the sauce in the ribs had a strange twang and...More

Service is slow, food is basic and presentation is poor - such a shame that the "deck food" lets the interior restaurant down and isn't of the same high quality as inside!

We decided to have lunch for 5 friends at the Boatyard. We had booked a table in advance and on arrival upgraded to an outside table. The receptionist was less then enthusiastic and sent us outside. The table was then prepared and a very limited...More

I'm not quite sure I understand what your particular problem is, you arrived and wanted to move to an outside table which our receptionist arranged for you, you express disappointment claiming we do not serve draught beer yet the pumps are clearly on display on...More

Ok, I know I can't expect much as a vegan but the restaurant staff did say they had organised a meal for me after our 'well in advance' booking. So, a ramekin of plain rice, a carrot, cabbage leaf, bits red pepper in a tomato...More

My partner and I thought we would try the Boatyard for lunch. The place wasn't overly busy with several waiters behind the bar. One of them cleared a table for us but was interrupted by another waiter saying leave that and help serve drinks but...More

In response to your comments I would like to state that the day of your visit was the hottest day of the year so far (in fact the hottest since 1976!). The area of our deck serving lunches was full to capacity and our staff...More

They do have parking for patrons but no designated disabled parking I would ring and ask the Restuarant to reserve a spot for you

Hi we are not too sure if they do a children's menu but I am sure if you request a small portion it would not be a problem. Most places will accommodate this type of request.
Hi just wanted to know if anyone has tried the vegetarian option and if so would you recommend? Many thanks

The Boatyard,
The Boatyard combines the benefits of a modern purpose-built restaurant with the classic surroundings of the Old Leigh fishing village, not to mention the excellent food. Contained within what was previously a working boatyard, the building has been converted into a modern restaurant, fully air-conditioned with a state of the art music system, digital projection screen and a glass-fronted kitchen area . A panoramic polarised glass frontage provides uninterrupted views of the Thames Estuary and Two-Tree Island Nature Reserve. Even more spectacular views can be obtained from the stunning wooden deck which juts out into the water and spans the entire width of the building.
