1- I came here for breakfast on my own but was on the phone to my friend (FaceTime), i ordered a coffee which came very promptly. I was approached by a member of the staff that said ‘ I’m sure other people don’t appreciate your...conversation’ I might add that the volume of our conversation was not loud and was respectful. Staff standing at the coffee machine laughing and joking, this place wasn’t the quietest so if I was over loud I would understand but at this point it was getting busy and I couldn’t hear my friend anyway, Im actually shocked because I would not expect a member of staff to approach if there was the both us at the table, a place like this where people also go to log on while they are working or having a teams meeting while enjoy a coffee. I was made to feel uncomfortable and felt like I wanted to leave without even eating my breakfast, I’ve never been out for a meal on my own before this was the first experience and to be fair not an enjoyable one I will not be coming back.More

A disappointing visit. I’m a vegan and had ordered the veggie breakfast, but was told it could be made vegan. When the food arrived, there was egg and halloumi on the plate, so we obviously sent it back. When it did come back I starting...eating and realised too late that there was butter on the toast. When I mentioned it, there was no sorry, but I will note that the toast was replaced with plain toast. When the bill came the meal was still on it, so I asked for it to be taken off. I found it disappointing that there was no apology. I’m obviously absolutely gutted I ate butter, but what if I’d had a dairy allergy?!More

Have always loved stop the world, went for brunch last week had lovely pancakes and fruit, could have done with some creme fraiche on the side! But big portions and tasty. Lots of yummy looking cakes in the cabinet too and selection of drinks. Interesting...Halloween decor too.More

Had a lovely tasty breakfast/brunch here today where the staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel more than welcome, the food was great it looked great to the eye and tasted equally as nice. Want to make a special shout out to the...lady in charge as she was sat right next to us on the table opposite and as soon as my breakfast came out she noticed a tiny little egg shell in one of my poached eggs and asked if she could take that back to the kitchen and get two more. I was very impressed by her level of service and the professional manor she had in and around her workplace. Well done everybody working in this establishment as you are doing a fantastic job. Many thanks again From the Flack family in CambridgeMore

Stop the World has always been my ‘go to’ cafe. I’m local to Leigh and have been visiting regularly for years and always recommend it to friends and family if they’re visiting Leigh, but oh, dear, they’ve really gone down hill recently. My last two...visits have been very disappointing. I had Eggs Benedict - eggs not just a little overdone, but absolutely rock hard, the muffins were cold, stale and tough as old boots. Couldn’t cut through them with a knife and fork. The Bubble & Squeak was overcooked and singed at the edges - a burnt taste and not good at all. We had a friend with us, and didn’t want to cause embarrassment by sending our meals back, but this is the second recent visit where the food has been really poor. Maybe it’s a change of chef? One on, Stop the World, you need to pull your socks up!More

We had awful service, basically had to seat ourselves after younger more hip people the staff knew who arrived later. Had two cheese on toasts & two coffees for £28 🙀! No sides with cheese on toast & they were burnt. Staff seemed more interested...in their social life & ordering drinks with friends. Such a shame as used to be well priced & good vibe. Now too expensiveMore

A wonderful breakfast, perhaps best ever. The food selection was amazing as is the quality of the food. The strawberry milkshake was out of this world. The cafe itself is very pretty and the service was quick and friendly. It's not cheap, but for the...quality and selection 8 feel that it is worth it. Comes highly recommended.More

It's not easy to find vegan food in a small town by the sea so I was very happy to find quite few options on the menu. I ordered an avocado toast with pesto and tahini which was DELICIOUS but the real surprise was the...tropical cake, probably the best vegan cake I have ever had. It's so nice to find a vegan cake which is a bit more creative. Well done to the chef for the menu and to the staff for the great service. We will definitely come back.More
