This Restaurant was recommended to us, by the Owners of Cote Sud, where we were staying. It is quite a haul up to the Auberge from the lower part of Troo, via a series of steps and steep paths, but the struggle was well worth it! The Formula 3-Course Menu at just over 16 Euros was well priced and the... More

This small restaurant was a most welcome find. After a long climb up the steep hill of Troo we decided to have lunch here and were glad we did. Very pleasant room, owner, and the food was excellent. Not expensive, 16.50 euro for three courses, with varied choices. Wine list was very nice, inexpensive and appropriate for the restaurant. If... More

my wife and I had lunch recently. we're staying in troo and noticed this enticing restaurant on top of the hill, next to the church. unfortunately, the atmosphere (ambiance?) is the best part of this restaurant. we had perhaps the worst meal of our trip. the steak was very thin, and well done (although the frites were very good). the... We enjoyed the friendliness, excellent meal, and value of this charming family run restaurant up the hill from our rental stone house.

We are staying in Cave Yucca just down from this restaurant so we thought we'd try it out. Absolute value for money. The food offered was excellent and the house wine was very acceptable. We have only broken schoolboy French but that was not a problem to the owner as we managed to make ourselves understood. In fact quite a... More

We stopped in here with a slightly tired 2 yr old for lunch at the tail end of the tourist season. We were the only people in there but the owners made us fell very welcome. We had only really wanted a salade and a beer. However, all that was on offer was the 3-course prixe fix which turned out... More

We didn't speak any French and they didn't speak any English, yet this was one of the most memorable dinners while we were in France. We communicated via charades and animal sounds ("quack quack" for duck and "moo" for beef) to translate what we wanted to have from the menu. We sat outside at the back which was nice a... More

It would be very difficult to find a restaurant where the welcome could be more warm and friendly than this little gem. We have a holiday home in the next village and although there are lots of very good restaurants in the area, this one is our favourite for price and ambiance. Patrick & Annick the owners make a superb... More

We stayed in Troo 25/26 July and passed this little eatery while trying to find our B&B (Cote Sud, also excellent!). As it was a Monday evening, the only other place to eat was a dull-looking bar on the main road through the lower part of the town so we decided to try Auberge du Chateau. There are just 8... More
