We arrived on time but felt rushed the entire time we were there. Our meals were nothing to write home about. Service was terrible.
We have dinned at the Grill twice now and we had amazing service. The menu has a great variety of foods to suit everyone's pallet. The best is their signature iced tea!! SO delicious.
This is a good alternative restaurant to gourmet type as it has an extensive menu with good salads ,sandwiches and soup .you will be surprised to find it has a beautiful view of georgian bay from inside or choose a table outside
The restaurant is always well frequented, so you might have to wait to get a table. We were happy about a friendly and fast service with good food at reasonable prices. When the weather is nice you can sit outside.
Four of us went for dinner. First time for all. We all ate something different and all raved about how good it was. Not only was the food great, but the service and reasonably priced. Nor to mention a waterfront view!👍
We cycled in here for a break during our long bike ride. We sat outside by the water where we had a wonderful view. It was very hot and a bit too sunny so we asked to move to a table in the shade but...weren't allowed to. Weird as there were many open tables. The wait staff here are quite surly but are efficient. The lunch salads we ordered were substantial and were delicious. The Club House Salad was great as was the salad served with apples, oranges, strawberries and nuts (can't remember it's name but I'd get it again!). The fish and chips were enjoyable too. We'll go back.More
My husband & I visited Port Severn for a mini getaway. I had researched restaurants in the area so as to plan our trip. A few days in advance I called and spoke to a nice girl about reserving a table for the Friday evening...of our stay. I had mentioned it was our Anniversay and she said she would make sure we had a nice spot at the window and said to come at 6:30pm. Upon arrival there were at least 12 people outside waiting for tables. I told the man who was seating people that I had a reservation. He said bluntly” we don’t take reservations”. I said I had booked it earlier in the week and he then rudely replied “ well you must have the wrong place then, because we don’t do reservations”. We decided we were not going to wait 45 min and went elsewhere. Just for my own peace of mind, I doubled checked my phone records and notebook and did in fact have Bush’s Marina The Grill in it with my reservation time written. I then decided to call the restaurant to see if one of the other workers would answer to question why someone would book me if they don’t take bookings. Unfortunately it was the same unfriendly man who answered. When I said I had checked my records and did have the restaurant reserved and had called Monday he snapped back “ We aren’t even open on Mondays” I honestly don’t remember the exact day I called but it was a few days ahead. Obviously a staff member screwed up. That does not reflect well on their business. Perhaps the girl was a new hire, maybe she didn’t know or maybe the girl made an exception, who knows but a more professional polite attitude with an “I’m terribly sorry, there must have been some kind of mistake, we will do our best to get you in as soon as possible” would have been a whole lot more professional. The bad attitude of this man and my embarrassment gave me a bad taste for this establishment without even entering. I’d suggest Oak Bay Golf & Country club, much more personable and willing to please. Please note that we are just your average ordinary people and are friendly & easy going and rarely ever complain about anything.More
Unless you want fine dining, this place is pretty much it for Port Severn. The pickerel is excellent and they have a good selection of interesting beers (imported, craft, etc). Indoor seating or out on the deck (though September is a bit late for that)....Very pleasant staff, good service, reasonably quick. Very casual, the menu is a bit limited, but adequate. We enjoyed all three visits!More
Popped to have lunch with a friend, her choice. Nice waterside spot with great staff. Service was prompt. Ordered plate of nachos to share. Pretty standard stuff. Craft beer selection was lacking.
The Grill in Port Seven is a regular stop for us on the way to the cottage. It has always been a very good experience however, the last two times have been disappointing. Both the service and food, usually a strong suit, has not been...acceptable. Today, for lunch, I had wings and a side Caesar salad. The salad was virtually uneatable, it was swimming in salad dressing and the wings very average. The server asked if I was going to finish the salad I pointed out the issue with the dressing. She said she’s never seen it like that and took it away. There was no offer to adjust my bill. Hoping that The Grill can return to its former level of service and quality.More
The food is awesome and the atmosphere is great as well. Sitting on the deck and looking at the view.
We stopped in as it was the only restaurant in the area and I was pleasantly surprised. It had a great view if you are sitting out on the patio and the food was very good. Their French fries were delicious! The service was quick...and friendly. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!More
Restaurant claims to be dog friendly, but they aren't allowed on the patio. In fact, you are to leave your dog tied up around the back of the building where you can't even see your dog while eating.
Ate here because It was the closest restaurant to our hotel. Did not know what to expect but this home cooking restaurant was excellent. Everything is pretty much homemade. Decent prices for a tourist area. The biggest reason you have to go here is for...the deep-fried butter tart. It is heaven in a dessert. But you need to share. Rich gooey and delicious.More
