Called in for a drink in this beautiful pub. It has great character and I'm sure it might be haunted. Delightfully authentic and a visit is a must

This is our eating out venue of choice in the local area, a very friendly and vibrant pub. The food is upmarket restaurant quality. We're vegetarian and there's always at least three imaginative and delicious choices which never disappoint.

Nick and Colette do a fantastic job of bringing the feel of a small family dining room into a very lively pub. We ended up having the tomato, bean, and spinach soup starter which was lovely and I don't like... More

Disappointed in vegetarian option, very greasy didn't eat much of it, wouldn't go there for food again, but the pub is in a nice location.

We visited this pub after reading amazing reviews on trip advisor. Got in here about 12:30pm on a Sunday. There was one old couple in the pub, along with the Mancunian landlady and her dad. Well, it was like an episode of Coronation Street, the Royle Family and Early Doors rolled into one. We heard all the gossip from the... More

We were received so warmly for our dinner, which is not always the case with three over-tired children under 5! I was so impressed by how welcome we were made to feel and how proactive the staff were in suggesting how best they may accommodate us e.g. offering to make the kids things that weren't of the menu if that... Booked a table for 2 on a sat night, arrived to find we'd been seated with another couple who were staying at the same B and B. Choice of lumping it or no supper.... Unfortunately they were late middle aged Home Counties Tory Christians and we're..... not.... we're liberal north London lesbians. Yes we have kids and no asking if... More
