This restaurant does not only have the ambiance, but it has fabulous food! We got lucky with one of the tables at the water's edge and had a fantastic waiter, Romel. He didn't steer us wrong and our group had the tuna app, unicorn fish, shrimp & lobster, and skirt steak. The only downside was that the taxi cost $40 each way to/from Eagle Beach, so I suggest renting a car for a few days and come here. It is well worth the trip and was the best food we had on the island in our week's stay. The couple next to us went there 3x and I could see why. We are NY'ers and very fortunate with everything it has to offer so we carefully choose our restaurants when we go away :)

Made reservations online for 6pm so we could be seated for the sunset. Arrived a bit late due to the traffic eh route (give yourself extra time if driving) and they were perfectly pleasant with us. The table we received was in the sand, not water. We thought having your feet wet during dinner was a little uncomfortable. While we were waiting for drinks the sun began to set and it was beautiful. Our waiter Ramell, offered to take photos for us before bringing an appetizer. We ordered the lobster/avocado salad which was brought minus the avocado and we were asked if that was ok? It wasn’t, but we kept it anyway. Not as great start, but really the only hiccup in the meal. The salad was still tasty served with lettuce- they could have reduced the price! We all enjoyed our cocktails: dark and stormy, moscato and mojitos. The entrees were delicious unicorn fish was the catch of the day and too intriguing to pass up! Scallops Provençal were delicious and the red snapper was lovely. Lastly was the halibut on a bed of sun dried tomato risotto. All delicious. We shared 2 deserts: creme brûlée and brownie with chocolate mousse (although we switched out pistachio ice cream for vanilla). Food was delicious, service was slow but not the scenery distracted. The prices are high, so be prepared but overall we felt like it was a nice evening splurge!

Me (27M) and my girlfriend (25F) made a reservation for dinner. Masks were required to enter and they have you fill out a contact tracing form. Our waiter was Julian who was fantastic. He had a no-rush approach, allowing us to finish our bread and drinks before ordering dinner. Same applied after dinner when we ordered dessert. I really liked this as it gave us time to digest and also enjoy the beautiful view! We didn't sit in the water, but on a deck right above it. Real candles, blue lights in the water, lights wrapped around the poles all made for a great view. The food was more expensive than the other places we've gone to, but the portions were much more and the food was delicious! I had the duck and stir fry and she had scallops over pasta. Both were cooked to perfection and worth the money. Water was routinely filled and the pina coladas were great as well. Highly recommend and thank you Julian for the great experience!

For the high prices, food should be significantly better quality. Julian, our server was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable and charming. Decor and seating is quite nice on the ocean front. As for the food, our Calamari was gummy and over cooked. Ordered the fish of the day with 3 extra shrimp for $42 (not an inexpensive dish!) Fish was dry and shrimps were as tough as marbles! Vegetarian dishes (pasta) are mediocre. These options are not as well thought out as they could be given how many non-meat eaters/vegans there are in the world whos appetites and preferences deserve a great dish. Restaurants like the flying fishbone have a strong reputation but it seems like over time it slacks kn the fundamentals like making sure the food experience is unforgettable given the steep prices.

This was our second time at The Flying Fishbone and we were very disappointed. The primary issue was the 50 minute delay in between being seated and our appetizers arriving. Getting our drinks wasn’t much easier. The second issue was the food was mostly cold when it finally arrived. As an example, the escargots are served on a specialized white china, oven safe dish that waitstaff usually warn you not to touch because it is very hot and just came out of a oven so the butter is piping hot. I was able to pick it up and hold it in my hand 30 seconds after it arrived with no concern at all. Ok, I ate one first (pictured) because I was famished and then realized it was actually cold. It didn’t get much better as the meal went on. We have eaten at a number of high end restaurants on the island this trip and, given the dramatic decrease in tourism due to covid, we have gone out of our way to try and help boost the economy by tipping generously and eating out frequently. Giving a poor review is something I take no pleasure in but my family of 5 was completely disappointed by this meal. Management even stopped by the table to apologize for the delays but did nothing as far as we could tell to address it. Hopefully the restaurant was just having a very off night but, if you are staying in Nord, you have plenty of better options for fine dining without the long cab ride as the Fishbone experience is primarily about the toes in the sand and views. Oh, and my wife wanted me to put in here that her margarita was “terrible”. If you found this review helpful, please click on the thumbs up button just below.

thank you for sharing your experience at Flying Fishbone. Unfortunately we did not meet your expectation, to that evening we had bad weather and the ambiance was already ruined by it. We strive to offer our patrons the ultimate experience in culinary and in fine dining. We do hope that you give us another opportunity to make things right.

Highly recommend! Definitely a dinner to remember. Mike our waiter was the best. He was very friendly and attentive. He also is a great photographer! Although we initially wanted a table In the water, we actually didn’t mind the table on the dock which is just as great without being getting wet. A lot for tables in the water were not being seated due to high tide. If you would like to be in the water you should make reservations weeks in advance. Docked a star for food quality. We got the fish and seafood platter for 2. Although we enjoyed the variety, we did not eat enjoy the wahoo which was very dry. The red snapper which was fish of the day was great! Would definitely come back if we were back in Aruba.

We booked a water table with high expectations at this restaurant. First of all we were told we could only book a water table at 5 pm, and we don’t eat that early, but we had to. We saw people getting in after 6 pm though who had a water table so the time slot makes no sense. We go to restaurants often and know our good food. Trust me you want to skip the flying fishbone if you want a culinary experience. This place sells for one reason alone, the setting and the reputation amongst tourists. Why I am giving it 2 stars. We had escargots, which were really bad and drowning in garlic sauce. Lobster bisque was actually good. Main course we had a seafood platter. Everything on it was absolutely disgusting. Fish was overcooked and way too salty In a bath of salty marinade and the mussels tasted really funky. I have no complaints about the service, we got water refills a lot and they asked if we wanted a drink on time. Overall you are buying a view so be ware!

I visit Aruba on a regular basis. Getting a reservation has always be tough. I was so excited to do feet in the water dining We had a 6:30 reservation, the woman that sat us was nasty and very unhappy We ordered the fish special per our waiter suggestion. The meal came out quickly, it was cold and covered with flies. The meal had flies coming out of everywhere. When we called the waiter he brought over a candle to keep the flies away. Needless to say we didn’t eat it, the plates were cleared Not once were we asked why we didn’t eat anything Quickly handed a bill for 160.00

A reservation is a must at this one of a kind space where the dinner service meets the sea. Up lit palms, white flowing tents and an eager staff make this a memorable dining destination. While interestingly, much of the seafood offered may be from distant shores, this place doesn’t miss a trick. Champaign buckets double as sandal wracks and each dessert was adorned with a pyrotechnic display. We enjoyed a lobster avocado appetizer followed by red snapper and seafood medley entrees. If you are going to splurge one night during your visit, Flying Fishbone should be on your short list.

In our one experience here our food was not good. The bread that came out was seemingly a store bought roll. Their eponymous cocktail was lacking. The quality of these initial items should have been telling. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and the menu was limited for her, which is OK. But they said they could whip up a pasta dish with veggies. They brought out cooked pasta, with a side of diced veggies and what seemed to be some canned tomato sauce. For comparison, when we made this request at Madama Jannette’s they brought her a very sophisticated pasta and veggies dish that was delicious and also not on the menu. My seafood and curry rice dish was on par with a cruise ship buffet, possibly worse. The seafood didn’t taste fresh and the “today’s catch” was not only not fresh but also overcooked. The curry sauce was not unlike the condiment you can find in UK restaurants. The views were nice, however. And perhaps our meal was a fluke. But we would not recommend this place based on our experience. Don’t mind spending $$$$ but we expect much better food for the price.

Flying Fishbone was recommended by a coworker and we are thrilled we didn’t skip it. Everything was great! From our waiter Julian to the rest of the staff, the atmosphere and the food...it couldn’t have been better. We splurged on the lobster bisque, the fish of the day (red snapper) and the lobster tail! And the baked Alaska for dessert. Everything from start to finish was well worth it!!

Our waitress was awesome, very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is nice especially if you get the table in the water. Those are booked way in advance for the sunset dinner, but we got lucky and managed to get one for a bit later. When my friend was making a reservation they advised to get there around 7 since the 5pm bookings are usually done by then. If we didn't get the table in the water we would be quite disappointed with the overall experience. The food was poor quality for the price they charged. My fish seemed a bit burned and bitter, while my friend's calamari were rubbery and overdone. They don't even have many options for people with food allergies and intolerances.

Our yoga retreat group was settling nicely into the laid-back feel of Aruba, especially as we were quartered in a mansion with a nice pool well south of Oranjestad’s crazy buzzy biz. So now we were ready to try one of the island’s most famous restaurants, Flying Fish Bone quite near us. Would it stand up to its fame? We were 11. They handled that very well, placing us with a table canted just so so everyone of us had a great sweeping view of other beautiful people patrons : ;, the beach and natives swimming its channel into the setting sun, and each other drinking and eating very well as served by a highly professional staff. All the seafood, including my shrimp, was impeccably fresh, the cocktails extremely well handled (I only on occasion order a gently stirred gin martini with a twist), and the wine list good enough. We wish we could return right now. You should visit as soon as you can!

Was planning to eat at Zeerovers in Aruba on 1/2/2020. Didn’t know that they were closed for both 1/1 and 1/2. Tried to get into the Flying Fishbone without a reservation just before sunset and were pleasantly surprised that they could accommodate us. We’d eaten there once before quite a few years ago. Had a very nice table in the sand and saw an amazing sunset (which happens most of the time in Aruba). Decided to share The Flying Fishbone seafood platter for 2 as an appetizer and ordered one entree to share. The seafood platter was absolutely delicious-most of the entree came back to our room as we were that full. Our waiter, Romel was excellent as were all of the servers. A great dinner.

We came here on our first night and were impressed by the wonderful atmosphere, the beautiful view and the delicious seafood. There is absolutely nothing we could complain about, therefore we came again 2 more times. And again it was great dinner with delicious food, stunning sunsets and very nice staff. The food is pricey but definitely worth it, you should experience it yourself 😎 We recommend the tuna tataki and the shrimp in tempura as appetizers.
