Whilst holidaying in France at our usual location we were joined by my cousin and his wife for a few days. Sunday lunch was organised at Les Echevins and was an absolute treat for our visitors who were not familiar with the French way of life. The menu was a delight and the meal, prepared with great care on site,... More

We were looking forward to our visit to Les Echevins, having been recommended, however we found the establishment pretentious, expensive and sadly lacking in consistent cuisine The starter was quite well presented, but the flavours were dissapointing. The main course looked awful on the plate, Breast of duck in a strawberry sauce. The skin of the duck was blackened and... More

This gentleman seems to have extensive culinary knowledge, so it should not ignore the breast with strawberry juice is a recipe that our chef has returned to England where he worked. Maybe this gentleman does not like the English cuisine. More

Please take no notice of the poor review by the "footballer". We were made to feel very welcome both times of our visit during our 4 night stay locally. The portions are ample and the vegetables are presented in a most imaginative way. A good choice of reasonably priced wines. Delicious local cheeses and fab desserts. Monsieur, the waiter and... This family-owned restaurant in Coulommiers was easy to find and book. The decor is of pink flowers on a white background while the wooden floor gives it a homely if, to me, somewhat chintzy look. The restauranteur was the sole waiter although occasionally one of the kitchen helpers would emerge. All of the tables were booked including one large party... More

We had lunch here today. The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. So much so we have booked to visit again for dinner on Friday (a party of five including a child)!

7 of us strolled in for an evening meal and were warmly welcomed. The restaurant is understated but stylish and very clean. Our group contained three children under 5 and unlike a previous review we felt they where very welcome. The menu is outstanding and the set menu is particularly good value. The wine is decent and well priced. My... More

We had lunch at Les Echevins a few days ago and sitting outside it was lovely. Situated in a quiet location off the main street we enjoyed the two course lunch for about 15 Euros. The three course menu is just 19 Euros. There were tablecloths and linen serviettes and the service was friendly and considerate given my limited French.... More

We booked for a family birthday and the food was OK although I was surprised that there was no dessert wine in a french restaurant. But where it all went wrong was the attitude of the manager, who was possibly the rudest, most ignorant man I've encountered in the hospitality industry. He obviously dislikes children (we were there with our... More

This gentleman forgets to mention that his son was having fun banging on the glass with a knife or throwing salt and pepper on the floor, decorate the windows of the restaurant with the imprints of his hands and his face. Throughout the meal the cherub never ceased to annoy the other guests, who have complained, without the parents involved.... More

Happened upon this little gem post-antique auction. A seasonally selected menu of traditional French ingredients with a refined twist & Michelin-like presentation & brasserie price. We each ordered a 'menu' and delighted in an assortment of foie gras, champignons, confit de canard and...a butternut soup that was near heavenly! The dessert was light & simultaneously decadent! Great service too! Frankly,... More

This is a a super restaurant serving elegant food which tastes very good. We had a 29.50 Euro menu which gave a fair choice. The presentation of each course was a delight to the eye and the flavours were superb. The service was excellent - food came at the right pace for us. We spent a sublime two and a... More
