We have been using the pub for a number of years, most often for Sunday lunch. During this time the food is always tasty, well presented and served by the ever friendly staff. Of the pubs in the area this is certainly one of the best, whether to stop in for a quick drink but certainly for food.

We received a very warm welcome on entering the pub. We had an excellent meal - delicious lamb shanks with creamy mash and redcurrant gravy, followed by a very tasty steamed syrup sponge and custard. On a cold Autumn day it was so lovely to have such a wonderful supper by an open log fire. The Landlord obviously takes great... More

Recently, my wife and I met up with some relations having never been to this pub before. Having said that, it was recommended to us by other relations who were local. Their recommendation was fully justified and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was excellent and the service was very good. The ambiance was comfortable but not "tarted up".... More

Came for a short break to visit family back in September - had a beautiful Sunday lunch of roast beef with all the trimmings. Lovely atmosphere inside the pub/restaurant with a lovely garden at the back to sit and have a drink while we waited. Can't fault the food/drink or staff and the homemade spotted dick was to die for!... More

We (family of 5, with 3 children under 11) had Sunday lunch at the Haywain on 18 Sept 2016. The pub makes it clear it is an "adult pub" but allows "well behaved" children. The pub was busy, but we were seated v quickly by friendly staff, and drinks / food orders taken quickly. The quality of the food (Sunday... More

The Haywain is what you would describe as a traditional Inn, with its Hop Clad Ceilings a very warm welcome from Kev & Louise (Landlord & Landlady) and their Staff. What we noticed was their attention to detail with fresh flowers on each table, and carpeted eating areas all made it look inviting. We decided to take a drive from... More

The Haywain never fails to provide great food. It offers a wide menu choice along with great beer, great atmosphere and the best of local pub experience. It provides a great welcome; a venue to bring our friends and visitors. We have yet to find a match anywhere in the area.
