This is a typical French family run restaurant with the mother/son duo in the kitchen and father taking care of guests and doubling as sommelier. And they do that exemplary. We had the 5 course “Carte blanche” menu with 2 appetizers, a main, cheese plate and dessert at 59€. The food is delicious. Not too complex or highly technical, but just very well cooked, very tasteful dishes using fresh regional products. We loved the carp(e) filled raviolis with a very tasteful sauce. I wouldn’t have said no to a second portion, that good. The street of this restaurant is dotted with wineries, so expect delicious and well paired regional whites. 2 houses down the road is a small family run hotel with friendly service and clean rooms, just in case you don’t want to drive these small roads after a great meal and wines. We’ll be back as soon as we’re in the Alsace region again.

We had lunch here after a long walk through the forest just outside the village. It was a discovery! Refined, exquis, with a touch of fantasy. The service was friendly, the produce mainly local... A gem! Not cheap but totally worth it.

Delicious cuisine. Fabulous choice of wine from the village with over 30 wine producers. Amazing welcome and service in this family owned restaurant. Every visit is a delight

We revisited this small and unspectacular restaurant some seven years after our first visit. AND it was still an experience very enjoyable experience

Had a lovely lunch at this cosy and intimate restaurant that is taken care by Sylvie Grucker and her husband Gilles. Menu is a nice combination of local specialities and international cuisine complemented with local wines around the corner.

Very intimate, nicely designed small restaurant. Courses are special and taste very good, but for the relatively high prices, I expected something a bit more exquisite.

This is a delightful small restuarant run by a husband and wife team. The food was the best we have had in Alsace, delicious local specialities and far better than that offered in some grander establishments. Very good atmosphere with local families eating, small but fresh and delicious menu chalked up on a board. We loved this place and hope to come back.

My wife and I literally stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant while exploring the quaint villages of Alsace. The restaurant is very small and we were very fortunate to get the last table. We were rewarded with a very special dining experience. The proprietors are Sylvie (Chef extraordinaire) & her husband Gilles Grucker. Sylvie handles the kitchen while Gilles adeptly takes care of the front of the house. I am always in awe when I experience simple, fresh, yet masterly prepared dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Her culinary pedigree is on full display in everything that comes out of the kitchen. The wine list is a true reflection of the 27 wine producers of Blienschwiller, which is very cool. Thank you Sylvie & Gilles for a truly memorable dining experience!

We met with 8 friends around a nice table in this tiny nice restaurant. The chef is Sylvie and her husband takes care of the dining room, and took us through the specialties of his chef-wife!! And gave great tips on local wine. I particularly love the Skrei (cod fish) and the snails!

We liked this restaurant so much when we had lunch,me came back for dinner the next week. It's a small dining room and I only saw two employees. A wife and husband team, mother wife is a well known chef and the husband runs the front of the house. They were both very charming. The food was excellent. Especially after very heavily sauced dishes in other restaurants in Alsace, including Michelin starred ones, this was refreshingly pure cooking. Don't get me wrong, the terrine de foie gras was the best we had and it's a classic. But each dish really tasted of the fresh vegetables and meat or fish in it. Will definitely return.

I had not read reviews before going. I do agree with the ones that felt that the food was not as outstanding as the presentation. It was fairly priced, but we found the veal almost tasteless, the duck excellent, the creme brulee excellent, the tiramisu (with muesli, huh?) quite flavourless, some of the vegetables too sharp/sour - would have to summarise it as an imbalance of style over substance. The atmosphere is good, the wait staff good, decor lovely but please put that black fish into a proper aquarium and not that horribly small vase-like bowl, fish are animals not decor! Overall good, would suggest booking, just not as knocked out as the signs on the door and information in the restaurant would imply. Nonetheless had a good time.

We enjoyed a 5 course chef's choice meal and wine pairing. There was also a small menu to choose from for other selections. Chef Sylvie and her husband, Gilles, were very friendly and gracious. Everything was creative and fresh. We had beet gazpacho, fois gras, fish cabillar, duck with artichoke puree and syrupy apricots with ice cream for dessert. It was a lovely, relaxing evening. Make sure you make a reservation. It is a very small place and they usually can't accommodate walk-ins.
