This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. Not something you would immediately see and think I must go there, in fact it is very discreet and modest and located on the busy ring road. Don't let that put you off though. This little restaurant which is owned and run by Vivian is absolutely brilliant. Not fine dining, not cheap... More

On our recent visit to Bophut we managed to eat here three times. Vivian is so welcoming and makes you feel like a best friend within minutes. We had been here three years ago and in most instances I wouldn't venture back but Cafe 69 is the exception... I'd go every night if I could. The chicken curry pot pie... More

Whoever is cooking here is very talented - the food is delicious and the cocktails are very nice. Great decor, on the main road so not much of a view but a great place to visit.

Somewhat questionable exterior but an excellent meal! Dined here twice during my week at Bo Phut; friendly & fun atmosphere and excellent food for the price. Red duck curry dumplings (THB 180) are 5 or 6 crispy moneybag-style dumplings filled with slow-cooked (8hr) tender duck leg meat shredded in red curry sauce; the soft shell crab in lack pepper (THB... Firstly do not be put off by the front of the place - which on first impression is rather uninspiring. The place is run and owned by a flamboyant gay Thai guy called Vivian who is simply lovely. He welcomes you with open arms like he's known you his entire life. His place and the decor is an extension of... More

We had dinner at Cafe69 our first night in Koh Samui and were just walking by and stopped to check the menu. They were fully bookend and looked surprised we didn't make reservation. But they gave us a table that was reserved but later in the evening so that gave us an hour. After the waiter showed us the menu... More

We had the fired snapper with green curry and mango and the green curry pie. Both were incredibly delicious and well valued. We also had mango and watermelon smoothies. Smoothies were Sooooo fresh and delicious. Favorite meal on the island by far and one of our favorite meals during our two weeks in Thailand.

You won't be blown away, especially by the environment, but it's decent food and much better from the other places that cater to Off-island demographic.

We first came to Cafe 69 at the end of 2013 and were blown away by the food! So much we based our decision to come back to koh Samui mainly because of this restaurant!! Subsequent trips to Thailand had failed to deliver a restaurant as good and it was definitely worth the return trip! We visited numerous times over... More

Not cheap (by Thai standards) but well worth it. Portions are massive - we ordered a starter and a main each. Far too much - could have shared 1+1 and still had enough.
