Travelled across the hills from Crown Point to visit this village (bendy steep road in parts where you can meet speeding locals on hairpin bends). Took an hour and arrived in need of lunch and a stiff drink. This was the only restaurant open with no more than half a dozen on the beach and nobody in the restaurant. Asked... More

Tried this place on the recommendation of some people who spend their winters in Castara. The woman who runs the place and does the cooking is very nice. However, the food is eatable, but the prices are ridiculous for the quality. The location on the beach is nice, although the very loud music from the bar next door spoils the... More

This Bar and restaurant are perfectly located on the castara bay beach and always have cold drinks, fresh food and great music playing. We had the fresh fried fish and chips at the bar (at least 3 times), and dined at the top restaurant as well (great sunset view at dinner). The staff were always polite and helpful, really a... Great little bar and restaurant. The centre for local liming in Castara. Definitely worth going along for the bamboo beach bonfire evening, but gets busy for sit down meal. You can get chicken and chips from the bar though

Great lunchtime beers at the beach bar and the fresh pineapple pina colada is to die for. Bit random though as it was served in a pint glass! We made great friends as the locals seem to just chill there. The restaurant upstairs is good too.

Great location, the restaurant is built on stilts overlooking Castara beach, very friendly staff. Usually open from lunchtime onwards. Limited choice of food (chicken or fish mainly) but good enough. Best time to go is Thursday night- they light bonfires on the beach and serve a great selection of small side dishes with your main meal choice (e.g. chicken with... More

This place is great for a lunchtime beer after a morning on the beach and does a great lunch too. There is bar downstairs and a bar/restaurant upstairs which is open to a cooling breeze. The food is cooked fresh daily and is usually a meat or fish curry with some interesting vegetable sides. The staff are friendly. We never... More

We were dining at Cascreole almost every day for a month. Debbie, who runs the restaurant, is an amazing chef with wonderful, sparkling, personality. We loved her and her food so much that we came every day, and experienced only the best service. When sitting and dining you can enjoy the most beautiful views of the big bay, watch pelicans... The food is fine-to-meh--about what you'd expect, but then you don't pay all that much for it. (Large portion of rice and lentils that tastes a lot like grocery store curry powder, a couple of bites each of a lettuce salad, macaroni salad, and literally two slices of fried, corn-battered plantain. And if you order the meat/chicken version of this... More

A beautiful bar on the beach in Paradise! The owner Andy is amazing at making you feel welcome. The beer is cold and the people friendly and welcoming. We had a lot of fun there, and hope to get back there.
