My mother is 92 and has had a hard year, having been in hospital for the first two months of this year, and then going through the upheaval of moving into a carehome. In short, she was in great need of a treat, and I, her son, offered to take her for a run through the East Neuk and buy... More

We were a family of ten, a 50th wedding anniversary lunch - two grandparents, two children and their husband / wife, and four granddaughters - and as St. Andrews held happy memories we though this would be an appropriate venue. Everything - and I mean everything, the food, setting, ambience, service and price - was immaculate. Nothing was too much... More

Visited for family birthday - 10 diverse diners excellently catered for: from the amuse bouche to petit fours, the entire meal was a delight. Service was friendly, calm and unobtrusive, and impressed us all that everything was served at the same moment by a small army of waiters and waitresses. Each course revealed another fabulous plate, and we moved seamlessly... More

We called here for lunch in a sudden whim. I was surprised to get a table knowing it's excellent reputation. Everything from the welcome to the coffee was magnificent. We had the menu of the day. No choice but it was so good. The intricate tastes of each course were superb. What I saw of the a la carte dishes... More

This was out first visit for my wife, myself and our baby daughter. We booked a table for lunch as we had heard good things and also noted the very reasonably priced lunch menu, which comes with all the extras you'd expect from a Michelin stared restaurant. From the moment we arrived the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They... More

We were bought the 6 course taster menu with matched wines for my husbands birthday. The staff were superb, friendly and efficient? The sommelier was very knowledgeable and did not skimp on the wine. The food was out of this world. In fairness it should be for the price but that isn't always the case is it? Each course was... More

Description
The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations.
The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn.
Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service.
A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting.
From your aperitif upon arrival to coffee and a liqueur before you have to depart, we are sure you will enjoy every moment of the wonderful cuisine and hospitality at The Peat Inn.
