We stopped here after visiting the lakes, and had a great lunch. The staff was very friendly, and the food was great. As a starter we took the salmon salad and the daily soup, and both were very tasteful. As main course we had steak and lamb chops grilled on the outside oven, and the result was delicious. The meat was accompanied by nicely grilled vegetables and potatoes, and freshly picked herbs from the garden. The restaurant seems to be frequented by a lot of locals, which is always a good sign!

The food was fresh and tasted amazing. Would highly recommend the grilled fish which comes with veg and potatoes. Reasonable prices given the huge portions and fresh dishes.The owner was even kind enough to drop us off to our hotel in a remote village in plitvice!

Amazing food in amazing location. Everything about this restaurant was great: the meat, the restaurant itself and the proximity to the lakes. The staff was also great and extremely kind. Bonus point goes to the grill chef that was cooking open-air near the tables! Highly recommend.

We went there in the afternoon to reserve a table for dinner and was recommended a particular one which we selected for 7pm that day. When we turned up the same waiter, who remembered our booking, had seated someone else there.....the food was OK but expensive, and the wine choice was “white or black”, and was not very good at all. Water only arrived after 3 requests, and at the end when we tried to pay by MasterCard (which is accepted “everywhere” in Croatia) was told it was cash only. Fortunately someone in our party had cash....as the nearest ATM was a way away. And during COVID-19 it is generally not acceptable to handle cash.....also there was an obtrusive TV projection playing on a nearby wall throughout which destroyed the ambience of a beautiful area. Do yourself a favour and eat at Licka Kuca just down the road which is at Entrance 2 to the Lakes. Cheaper, better food and wine, nicer place, and professional service. Unusually one would expect a state run restaurant to be worse than a private one. In this case it is very much the reverse.

We ordered grilled vegetables for 100 kuna each. We expected great big meals. The meals were more like side dishes worth 30 kuna. The staff give us small fresh salat after we complained. Hope they duble their veggie meals otherwise its a rip-off. Also as others mentioned: CASH ONLY.

Good atmosphere and service, bad food. A salad drenched in a bunch of sauces, prawn pasta with a few 1cm prawns, lamb fat with a bit of meat (“cutlet”), bad red house wine. Redeeming factor was the nice waiter, whom was receptive to our comments and apologized. I would always recommend going to a ‘konoba’ instead of a restaurant.

We are a group of four friends from Italy visiting the Plitviche lakes for the first time. To have dinner we decided to try one of the many restaurants in the area and we couldn't have chosen one better than Petar! We had to wait a few minutes to seat, but the wait was pleasantly accompanied by a very good local beer. Once our table was ready, the waiters guided us in choosing the dishes that best suited our tastes and we took the Petar meet plate (advised for two people). A delicious dish, consisting of various kinds of meat, vegetables and rice. All the ingredients were fresh, delicious and locally produced. Everything was prepared with extreme delicacy of flavours and served with great kindness and courtesy. If we could give it a higher rating, we would not hesitate!

What a moment ! After an 8 hours walk around Plitvice Lakes, we wanted to try traditional food and We will remember this choice forever. Perfect place, Especially for meat lovers.
Do not hesistate, take the Lamb (or Calf) under the bell. The plate was fantastic, with a perfect cooking. You can judge by yourself with the pictures below.
Just an advice, go there before 8pm to be sure to get your « under the bell » meat, 2 hours being needed for this dish.
On top of that, waiters and cookers were really really nice.
A must-do !

The food was absolutely amazing. The service was wonderful and the chef even showed us how he made some of the delightful food. They brought us everything they asked for without hesitation. Such friendly and talented proprietors. Many in our group are vegetarian eaters and there were great options for all.

Amazing service, great waiters that really know to reccomend their local treasures. Peka (calf for two) is worth trying, rose local wine also, local draught beer...The atmosphere is very friendly and we had a great tip from one of the waiters .

Fantastic service, excellent food, and great hospitality!
This place is not far away from the plitvice lakes entrace! We enjoyed the excellent food and the great service of the night, including some recommendations of the staff themselves about the food and the lakes. The food was amazing and the cook even explained everything about the specials he prepaired.
We would definately recommend this restaurant!

Nice location but, from the beginning the reception was poor, tables free outside but availability only inside near the kitchen with relative fumes and unpleasant odors. When we started ordering we made the unfortunate discovery that many dishes were not available and therefore the choice was very limited. Overcooked meat and faced with demand for draft blonde beer we were brought a dark beer saying that the blonde was not available and that beer was cmq very similar to the blonde (absolutely false). To close then with the bill, the waiter arrived directly with the pos without telling us the amount of the bill and saying that it was not possible to divide it between the two families...

Very slow service and an average meal. The 'gourmet' burger came with pre-cooked potatoes so goodness only knows why it took 40mins. And even then there was no cutlery and they waited till they brought the dish to give some bread. If they had at least given me that at the start, it would have made the wait less tedious. Wouldn't recommend

Delicious traditional croatian food with high quality. nice and authentic atmosphere, friendly and welcoming service.
i have never eaten such delicious lamb meat - highly recommended. furthermore, everything from the mediterranean salad, the grilled vegetables and the grilled meat

We had a lovely evening here, the food was delicious (lovely bbq flavours and the monk fish cappacio was so fresh and full of flavour). We played with the puppy (a super cute Australian shepherd) and no “brutal treatment” as described by other reviews, I couldn’t believe those reviews as the puppy was so happy and content and I saw some of the staff playing with him too, I think those reviews were maybe a bit jealous that the puppy didn’t approach them to play. The service top notch, Leopold (our waiter) was absolutely fantastic, very polite and made sure we were looked after, could not fault the service at all. All in all one of the best restaurants I’ve been to! We are used to high end restaurants in London (we’re brits), and this was on par or better than most in London.
