We had two wonderful dinners here! The second night the owner and chef made special arrangements to procure seafood for us. The owner even helped direct us to our hotel and speaks wonderful English. The food is delicious and they made us feel like family....We can’t wait to return to A Cantina.More

We always visit when in Cariati and the owner and staff are very friendly. The gem of this place is it is off the main beat track so it perfect place to go for a romantic evening. The other interesting this about this place is...the food. So you normally go to a bar/restaurant and view a menu and order. This place you have only two options Meat or Seafood (mostly sea food) and you just tell the waiter. The result is you get about 4-5 courses or a lot of food for a very VERY good price. I love it cause I don't know what I'm getting but I'm never disappointed. Wine is fantastic.More

We had a meal here the night before with our tour group. We had an open night and decided to return for dinner for two. There is no menu, They do not accept credit cards - but what a meal. We had a complete multi...course Italian dinner from Antipasta, to first Course (pasta), second course (Choice of meat or fish), to fruit, to dessert, to coffee and ending with a digestive (Liquor). All for $15 Euros per person. This was one of the best meals of the trip. We were seated in the courtyard behind the restaurant and the setting was very romantic. The manager was fluent in English and was happy to explain the food items to us. I highly recommend this restaurant/Pub.More

The ambience is wonderful the wait staff are engaging and the live music superb but the food here bears no resemblance to tapas. On this trip to Italy we have endured some awful food but this wins as the worse cold Italian food I have...ever eaten. Sorry guys may be we were to early wanting to eat at 8.30 pm but that is no excuse for good that is that bad.More

Me and my wife visited for a drink and some wine before dinner. We basically just was popping through, ended up staying and eating a lot. The service is 10/10 and as English speakers we thought we would struggle, but the owner has a good...grasp of English. He recommend wine based on our tastes and neither me or my wife could fault. Other staff are friendly despite language barrier. Wine is simply perfect, and excellent selection. Food is odd in a good way. They dont seem to have a menu but put things together for you that is fresh and tasty. They actually give you soo much that you are full and satisfied. Some items include calamari, hams, pasta, cheeses, chips, omelette thingy, bread. Price - This is the most shocking thing. We visited twice, once me and wife and once 6 of us. First visit 6 glasses of large good wine, two platters of food=€22. Second visit 6 glasses of wine, 2 lemonades, 1 coca cola and food for six that felt like for 12 = €44. Overall a must place to visit and highly recommend for couples and family.More

Third time in Cariati, but visited for the first time this absolutely fabulous and amazing little wine bar at Cariati Old Town (Centro Storico). Make sure you are hungry if you want to enjoy all the special food of this bar. The staff is very...friendly and you can get service in English as well. This is certainly a place you have to visit during your holidays in Cariati.More

What a great little Cantina. This is a real celebration of life in Calabria. The food was excellent and all wines are local. They project onto a wall in the street video of bands playing traditional music from the district. The atmosphere and the service...are friendly and it makes for a great night. Don't miss it.More

What an amazing experience! This local spot within the historic walls is only open in the evening. There is no menu, just a list of what they are serving that night. It was 10 euros a person. There was more food than we could possibly...eat. Everything was delicious!! As more people arrived, they pulled out more tables and chairs into the street to make room for them. The waiter spoke limited English but went out of his way to please us. This local restaurant is not to be missed!!More
