This is a very popular village pub. We managed to get the last table for two and were served by the very friendly owner. She was very bubbly and engaging finding out where we were from, what we had been doing and where we where staying. The food was excellent and the Pavlova dessert was yummy! The Ales were good... Booked a table for dinner. Very pleasant waitress/owner. We were eating later 2030 so some dishes weren't on offer. Choose the baked crab for a starter followed by Hake with artichokes & lemon and beer battered cod as mains. The crab starter was tasty and well cooked but had shell in it! Mains were nicely presented and plentiful but having... More

This is surely a must-visit pub for lunch. It was very popular and we were probably lucky to get in but even though it was full, the service was excellent and we didn't have to wait very long at all. The menu was very good (nothing out of the ordinary but certainly enough to choose from). We will definitely be... More

Our third visit in recent years, and very much enjoyed. Lovely staff, friendly and welcoming, and happy to oblige. I hade the braised lamb cutlets, and it was fabulous as were the other meals. Nice to have choice of potatoes, my daughter and I had the dauphinois Which were a delight. No room left for deserts. Dog friendly, but only... More

This is a real Cornish locals pub normally having four real ales plus a good range of lagers and ciders. The food is of a very high standard as is the welcome. The locals are friendly and will make you feel at home. Booking a table is always a good idea as this is a very popular eating place.

We were house-hunting in the area and, having found a house we really liked, decided we'd try out the local pub. We just wanted a snack at lunchtime, as we were eating out in the evening. The serving staff were really friendly and welcoming and quite happy just to serve us just a starter - we had the home-made salmon... More

Booked a table for lunch on a saturday afternoon. Welcomed by a friendly lady and shown our table. We ordered from the specials board. I had mushroom soup which was delicious and an excellent portion size. My friend ordered a smoked chicken salad. The presentation was lovely, with delicate pea shoots on the salad. We also ordered pudding and the... More

This is a lovely old pub restaurant, serving delicious food. We have eaten there twice & each time has been a wonderful experience. The food is fresh & the vegetables in season. Delicious. We will certainly be going again.
