On our way from Funchal to Ribeiro Frio, we stopped here upon recommendation from our friend who lives in Madeira. The place in nice, simple, with lots of wood and old utensils as a decoration. Fireplace. The service is very professional. And the food... The food is just excellent with local dishes on the menu (generous portions). Keep it up,... More

A friend of mine advised to pay a visit to this restaurant and ask for the bacalhau na telha and the octopus, this was the best choice, it's warm with the fire place which is something to Kay attention for as most of the restaurants are cold. Will back to try other dishes.

This place was recommended by a friend who lives on the Island. It's a fair way up the mountain in the clouds, not for the feint hearted if you have a hire car, we did but are used to these roads, tourists come by taxi, saying that there are not many tourists on a Friday night, really busy and a... The location is a bit out of the way but well worth the visit. Didn't book a table but managed to get a table. Great rustic ambience with very friendly staff. Starter was ordered which was very tasty. Steaks ordered were cooked to perfection... Overall a very good experience!

Obviously popular with the locals: we stopped on our way to Poiso as the car park was full. Huge menu and wine list. We only wanted light lunch. Local choireso (various types) grilled, served with olives and garlic bread and my partner had local ham with a salad. A perfect lunch with a bottle of wine. Excellent service - but... More

My family and i came here for lunch, it was a bit hard to find but once we came there the environment was highly impressive. This traditional restaurant is perfect for lunch- a thick menu with fits for all ages and tastes, good prices and a great service. A flaw would be that it is a bit cold inside.
