Came a few years back after a change of management, but left disappointed. But today we braved a return (because the beer here has always been beautiful no matter what the kitchen was serving up) Got to say, the meal we had was exceptional. The...More

Food & service excellent cannot fault highly recommended. Not sure were the doubters get it from. We are visitors to the area but you have to remember the locals are regulars and the lifeblood of the pub.

OK I admit I like the place. Regularly visit for meals, if not frequently, but how on earth does this team just keep getting better? The atmosphere, service and food all way above the standards you've any right to expect in a pub. I couldn't...More

Have visited here a few times before when visiting family in the area. This is the first time in years that I've been down in peak season though, and expected it to be busy. Despite that, and with several reassurances from staff confirming that food...More

Taken here by relatives to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and whilst holidaying nearby. Food was excellent and service extremely good. We had an excellent evening and our experience at this venue certainly helped make for a great celebration. Thank you Tom and Luce.

A pretty, thatched traditional pub and restaurant, the Punchbowl and Ladle has masses of character both inside and out. Parts of the building date back to the 15th century and during the 17th century it was a hostelry for travellers and mariners crossing the river Fal on the King Harry Ferry. Legend has it that part of the building was employed as a customs house, and the original fireplace in the bar was used to destroy confiscated contraband! Today, Graham & Jacqui Hill and their team welcome you warmly into the pub that has two bars, a large dining area and plenty of cosy nooks and corners for people to sit in comfort.
