Since the Hillside was closed I thought I would give the Plough another chance however it was the usual awful service and then a precooked reheated burger arrives costing £13....I'm glad the Hillside has reopened superior in every way!

Attended today for a family Sunday lunch. First of all I should say the food was excellent! I have marked down due to a number of reasons mainly service. When we were seated in the bistro some of the party had not brought a drink from the bar. It took 10min for one glass of wine and a bottle of... More

On our last day in "Norn Iron" we were treated to a fantastic meal by Father in law who is a loyal regular at this place. I can see why. They have one of those menus that have lots of temptations. We didn't feel rushed as we "Oohed" and "arrghed" our way through some well designed options. I reluctantly shared... More

This has to be one of my favourite places to eat now. Fantastic cooked food and a great atmosphere. I had the homemade nachos to start, and wow I wanted another plate it was that good. We also had a bread selection. For my main I had the pork belly with apple sauce and black pudding and a gorgeous mash!... More

I had a trio of cold fish where no cooking was required. So one can really go wrong there. Very ordinary. For my main... More

We called at lunchtime on 1 May. I think perhaps the combination of an outstandingly good day and a public holiday may have caught them on the hop, and serving food outside is always harder on staff. However, for us as customers it was a lovely lunchtime, food was delicious, well presented, generous and hot and staff by and large... More

We booked for a family lunch, service wise this was ok the staff where very polite, and helpful, and food arrived quickly, Food wise my starter was completely different from the menu description which I found strange, and lacking 3 things listed on the menu, but it was still good, though given the price and lacking of headline ingredients made...
