Amazing restaurant. I could see the staff’s smile beneath their face mask, especially their friendly and witty sommelier who’s passionate about his job and very good at it. The selection of wines ingeniously matched the menu, it’s worth adding the option. I can’t recommend this...place enough if you like seafood and want to discover Brittany’s best products and flavours perfected by a rich choice of diverse French wines.More

We usually avoid Michelin star restos in France - too formal, too intense, too little enjoyment going on - but HPSM seemed to get a reasonable balance. We chose the Pointe Menu @ EUR 84 pp. Very enjoyable, imaginative food, but we felt that some...dishes were a bit too tricksy for their own good. Very professional, and charming staff (once they "warmed up"). A pleasant uncrowded dining room, but a bit dark with small windows, perhaps better suited to winter evenings than summer lunches. Very fairly priced wine list. Definitely worth a detour. Circa EUR 220 for 2.More

The size of the restaurant is not that big neither small, just suit the typical French fine dining. The entrance of this restaurant is via the Hostellerie de la Pointe Saint-Mathieu. It’s not very often I am able to spend so much time on a...meal, but I felt this was worth it. The sommelier are knowledgable. He suggests and explains clearly the wines to accompany the meals. The waitress served us a welcoming appetiser. As I was admiring the appetiser, I suddenly was distracted as the lady brought a basket of bread and three choices of butter (locally prepared). Menu : We chose "Une pointe d'iode". It was course by course meal. Fresh seafoods all over the meal. Excellent presentation and plating. Service : Well-trained waiters and waitresses. Professional. Overall : Nice and neat. Modernly blended of traditional French cuisine. A must spot to be if you around the area but need to book as early as possible. 100% satisfied. If money is no objective, I would definitely recommend this place for a consistently delicious meal made by a Michelin-starred chef.More

Le Conquet is a beautiful area and this restaurant capped an excellent stay for us. Atmosphere and food preparation were all to a high standard and what you would expect from a Michelin "starred" establishment. Service was very good but sometimes a little "intense" as...wait staff were at times somewhat harried- but always professional. Overall I would recommend if you are in the area.More

We went there on our last evening on holidays and we were not disappointed. Service was quick and efficient. Good kids option despite being a 1 star restaurant . Our menu was original and food of good quality . We were very satisfied . Restaurant...is bright and clean as well and not too noisy. It’s a pity there is no view on Pointe St Mathieu like the Bistrot 1954 next door, that has the views but lacks the quality of food and service.More

Looking for a great restaurant, with a lot of class, creative cuisine, very professional staff and a lovely place? This is the best restaurant in the area. We are lucky to live nearby and visit often. Always a good time.

My two siblings and I took our father out to dinner on his 87th birthday. My sister, having read good reviews, had booked a table at Restaurant de la Pointe Saint-Mathieu in Plougonvelin, just a couple of miles from our house in Lochrist, Le Conquet....The restaurant is a part of a hotel located on the ruggedly beautiful coast of Brittany, next to a lighthouse and ruins of an old monastery. On arrival we were swiftly seated at a cozy corner table and the head waiter recommended aperitifs. While the others had a sweetish cocktail I chose a dram of Armorik Roch Du, a deliciously smoky and complex local single malt whisky. Like the Scots and the Irish, Bretons produce their whisky with an admirable skill. We all took the 45€ menu, a delightfully affordable selection of three courses, and shared an equally affordable bottle of Chateau La Bretonniere, Cotes de Bordeaux. For starter I had "La Cotriade", a selection of seafood in fish-based broth. It came escorted by a pre-starter and a post-starter, all culinary adventures. My main course was "Le Poulet « Marensin » des Landes", a dish of juicy chicken breast fillet with chicken leg confit raviolis, salsify crisps and fowl sauce. I find it hard to believe that a simple piece of chicken could be any tastier. The chocolate dessert was another adventure. And just like the starter, it came with a-pre-dessert and a post-dessert. The waiters were attentive and smooth without being pushy, making sure that we would enjoy our meal. We certainly did, we were totally pampered. To top this evening, the excellent service just continued. As it was time to leave, I asked the staff call us a cab. After hearing were we were bound they offered us a ride home in a mini-bus. The restaurant and the chef Nolwenn Core have truly proved themselves worthy of the coveted Michelin star they hold.More

Hurray! A Michelin starred restaurant in France that deserves the accolade. A pleasant, uncrowded dining room, with large tables; a team of staff who go out of their way to be attentive; food that is imaginative, clever and shows real skill. We went for the...menu 'iode' and had few regrets; it's maybe not cheap at around €75 but worth the price. The lamb from the Lozere was a particular highlight; the low spot for me was the brill which needed a minute more in the pan - the current habit of slightly undercooking fish is a fad I could do without. They made up for this by cooking the lamb two ways for our party and getting that right. Amuse bouches were fun and generous, bread great. There's an extensive wine list with some good bottles at fair prices. Champagne is a silly price (in the bad sense) for a glass - you don't need to charge €20 for Duval-Leroy. The maitre d' was a delight as was our waitress. All in all, a very good experience, apart from the bad taste left by the cost of that champagne.More
