We came here by recommendation by our friend. The wine list is very extensive and impressive. Food is very good. It's a family run business with service and cooking from the heart. The only problem is the location which is in the middle of nowhere. You have to put lots of effort into this matter. If you are a wine... More

This is a high class restaurant in a small, unassuming village. Admittedly, we did not get a chance to appreciate the menu which has plentiful meat and game options but few choices for vegetarians. When we made reservations (highly recommended) we inquired about vegetarian options. We were offered eggs and vegetables. The appetizers and main dish were both well prepared... More

The best wine list ever with food to match. A small town just outside Chablis, an hour + from Beaune. It is worth a detour..

My partner and I were here in April 2015 & Sept 2015. We love this place for it's food and GREAT selection of wines. It's here where we had our first wine from Romanee-Conti's selection. The suite room is great for couples. Surrounded by a lovely tiny village, we will never get bored with this place.

Not my first time at the restaurant but I must confess that the food its getting better and better. Now, one doesn't usually go to Pot d'Etain for food alone - it is a meeting point of wine geeks and other aficionados of impossible to find, rare Burgundy bottles. For that reason you need to arrive there one or two... More

Tried this restaurant, which we used to eat at quite regularly but not for a long time, after various people talked about it's good wine list. Very traditional decor with nice table decorations - all very clean. It has an excellent wine list, with both geographical range and depth. High mark-ups. Friendly owners appeared all too briefly - would have... More

We dined here on the recommendation of our B&B and were not disappointed. We chose from a set menu and found it all enjoyable. The ENORMOUS wine list was a bit overwhelming to be honest so we chose chose beer and Kir to keep it simple. The staff are extremely proficient and I would recommend booking as we did because... Bacon pieces in vegetarian soup! The proprietress told me they were croutons! I left the 'croutons' on the side of the plate but there was no acknowledgement or reduction on the bill.

We wanted a stopover for lunch and consulted Tripadvisor. It was pouring with rain and arrived a bit before noon. Were a bit surprised that we were asked if we had booked, as the dining hall was completely empty. Soon it filled up rapidly and we gradually found out it was a religious holiday in France, 15th August, Maria Ascension... More
