I regret to say that the Rose & Crown Inn in Nether Stowey has been closed for a year and as yet there are no signs of it re-opening. Great pity it was good and convenient

This pub is now closed. I have no idea whether it will open in the future. It is a shame as it is an old coaching inn with bags of character which was an asset to the village.

Fabulous homely atmosphere. Sat by the open fire and enjoyed a warm hearty meal. Local cider strong but good stuff!! Enjoyed the historical pictures around the pub.

Had two brilliant evenings at this pub while on holiday in the village. The beer is well-kept, the staff and locals are friendly, and the food is home-cooked and plentiful. The lasagne was delicious and the curries tasty (try the 'Beast of Bodmin' curry if you dare....).

Recently moved into the village, my wife and I managed to pop out for a drink, very warm welcome awaited us by the landlord , had a couple of pints of cheddar valley sat by the fire... Fantastic place to come and chill out...

Both went for Sunday Lunch with the dog. Nice place, busy bar really, really nice lunch...crisp roasties, fresh veg, quality meat and both had individual gravy jugs which saves fighting. Lesser joints swamp the dishes with gravy or don't give enough. Not these guys. Pork was particularly good. Nicest Sunday lunch I have had in a long time so do... More

Charles, the landlord, was immediately welcoming and chatty when we walked through the door and we felt very comfortable. The problems started when we ordered food. We had the first order of the night - one of the dishes was off the menu from the start. Our food took 55 minutes to arrive. One meal (the gammon) was fine, but... More

This review has left us slightly confused. With the best will in the world we cannot guarantee to have everything on the menu available all of the time because it gets eaten!. The initial delay with the food was due to the kitchen not being ready to cook at 6.00pm (our starting time) for which we must apologise. The first... More

Very good Dog Friendly Accommodation & Bar: Only stopped off for a drink, whilst out on a walk. Even though we were soaking Wet, Toby included, we were made to feel welcome. Thanks
