This is a magnificent fish restaurant. We were lucky to get there for an early evening meal. We were able to park in one of the few on-road spaces nearby and the queue increased while we were there. The feel is quite informal: bench seating and you order at the till. But the service is very fast and the food is astounding. Our children really enjoyed their fish burgers and Spanish potatoes; our vegetarian enjoyed a (large!) wrap and I was glad I was hungry before our amazing fish meal for two! The potato salad and mixed vegetables were nice, but the mixed salad looked delicious.

Our local friends suggested this place for fresh fish from the Bodensee' located on the Reichenau peninsula. Already been told the place is always packed, reservation is strongly advisable to ensure the table is secured.
The food menu displayed on the wall, food court style. Not overly large one, it covers from the appetizers, soups, mains, sides, fiah burgers and beverage options.
The quality of food is great, generous serving of salad, the food is cooked in simplest way to highlight the freshness of the fish.
The service is quick and efficient. Well recommended if you are looking for uncomplicated good food from the Bodensee area.

The fresh fish is caught daily and you can taste the quality with every bite. Even if you take one of the many fish sandwiches, you will be enjoying a great meal. It's a bit off the "beaten track" but well worth the effort. Most cyclists will stop here for a well earned sandwich.

Great food, worth the wait. We were not smart enough to look at the menu before we got a table..then had to rush - you pre-order and pay when you get the table. Definitely worth the hassle...prawns were perfect as was the grilled fish

On a sunny Saturday afternoon we were once again in this restaurant. Actually, it is more a snack - but from the taste a restaurant.
A free parking space for the car is unfortunately very rare. There are only 4 parking spaces and they are almost always occupied, because this place is actually always very busy.
The food is really incredibly good. No matter what you take.
The service is polite and very fast.
In addition to the restaurant, you can also take beautiful walks here.

Fish restaurant on the river. The fish was so fresh, wide menu with many options, including salads, drinks and kids meals.
The food was so good, highly recommended.

Came across this place late morning whilst cycling around Reichenau and it was already busy so returned later for lunch. Excellent freshly prepared food as you can see in the photo and very good value considering the high standard

This establishment fishes every day for the fish which will go on your plate a few hours later. It’s informal, with everyone sitting together on long tables. You may well have to wait for a space as it’s very popular. We had the fish platter for two people which was to die for. Unbelievably delicious fish from the Bodensee in many different forms - cold patés, shellfish in aspic, fish in pastry, smoked fish; and hot fried fish, two different sorts, equally delicious. Spanking fresh mixed salad, excellent Müller-Thurgau white and Spätburgunder rosé from the island; everything very reasonably-priced. Cycle parking right outside. Clean loos and hardworking staff. You find your table, give the number at the bar and order the food. The lady was very helpful with this foreigner in explaining what came with the fish platter, which ensured I didn’t order too much. Portions were substantial. Lots of very happy people. I could go there every day. Reichenau is a gorgeous island and this is one of its gems.

Had lunch there after a canoeing trip around the island and even though we got some snacks while waiting for our reservation everyone cleaned their plate. Would definitely go again!

Lovely fresh fish from Bodensee! Nice view out to the river and large tasty side salads. Good luck getting a seat- this place is popular for a reason.

Fresh yummy fish, quick service. We had a whole local fish and fish filet and my kid had fish-Maultaschen (Swabian Ravioli). They are all yummy. Seating is a bit inconvenience, but considering a bike tour, this is probably fine. Highly recommended!

There are several fish restaurants around the Bodensee (Lake Constance) in Konstanz but this one is probably the best you can find, although not in the city centre. This is typically a fish joint rather than a restaurant but the fish they serve is superb - simple but very fresh and tasty!
Once you come in to the restaurant first you have to find your place to sit and get the table number; and then go to check the menu on the wall as well as menu on the table to make your choice; order your dish at the cashier and pay; once the dish(es) is ready they will bring it(them) to you. Not only fish but their salad menu is also great - simply too big to have both fish and salad together (I made a miscalculation of the food volume! )
Fish is "catch-of-the-day" from the lake in front of the restaurant and very fresh - "pike-perch", "egli (European perch)", "felchen (whitefish)", "forelle"... (they have a fish shop next to the restaurant and sell their catch as well - if you plan to buy fish, make sure that you have ice box to carry them as sweet water fish goes bad very quick.)
Staff is friendly and kind.
There are two problems - one is in peak time there are ques and you have to wait and the other is it is not easy to find a parking space near the restaurant (I was lucky to find one just near by - parking on this narrow road is permitted with disc and for max two hours; there is a control - so be aware!)
Planning to go back to this place again in the near future!

We came in for an early supper when riding back to Konstanz. It was a good choice in view of the ever increasing queue. It's self service and you squeeze on wooden benches, but the nice food is worth it. Fresh fish (not sure though whether it's all still today from Bodensee), good green and potato salads (according to our daughter) and tasteful pan fried potatoes made it a good value (taking into account the price level near the Swiss border).

Trusting reviews on TA we walked to this local "fish joint" and enjoyed fresh fish (Zander, Egli, Felchen, Forelle...) for a correct price.
Outdoor seating with a "Biergarten Ambiente" (shared tables).
"Instructions" for Riebels (selfservice)
1) secure a table to sit down, remember the number
2) check the menu/chalkboard (German)
3) choose a dish & drink
4) pay at register & take your drinks to your table
5) sit down, relax & enjoy the nice view of the lake, food is brought to the table by friendly young people
Parking your car is a big problem. Leave your car close to the St. Georg museum, on the public parking and walk in 5 minutes to Riebels.
