We're a specialized Caribbean food Restaurant located in Cocles; we work with fresh and high quality products which allows us to provide you with an amazing caribbean food experience that you'll never forget! We are on the main street in front of the soccer field (2 km South of Puerto Viejo). Many people visit us on their route before going or after returning back from the gorgeous beaches nearby. We are continuously opened from 11:30am to 8:30pm, everydays less Tuesdays.

Excellent Caribbean Food!

To experience the best of Caribbean food simply go to La Nena! Every dish we tried (went twice) was super fresh and totally delicious! While the same dishes are offered in most Caribbean restaurants, some prepare it better than others. I felt La Nena was...a notch above! Best ceviche we tried on the coast! Really wonderful red snapper! Even the passion fruit dressing was great! And portions are very generous. To top it off cocktails and service were great!More

GET TO La Nena!

The staff are friendly, helpful and genuinely caring. The kitchen staff make some incredible eats. The plates are bountiful and tasty. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming and EVERY meal that we had at La Nena was delicious, flavourful and memorable. We wish we could...have eaten there more often while we were in Cocles - it was our favourite place to eat!More

Large Portions of Local Fare

We ate a late lunch here and were impressed by the very generous servings. Everything we saw (and could smell) coming out of the kitchen looked incredible. We enjoyed our casados. It is a very casual atmosphere and appeared as though many locals also eat...here which is typically a good sign!More

Great Local Restaurant!

We had dinner here our first night in Puerto Viejo and were very happy with our choice out of several local restaurants which all came highly recommended. Nice casual walk from several of the hotels and lodges in the area and the food, drinks and...service are all excellent. The mojitos are handmade, the ceviche is fresh and full of flavor and the vegetable burritos are stuffed with fresh local vegetables - all delicious as is their fabulous passion fruit dressing which compliments several of their local dishes. Prices are very reasonable and portions are very generous. Definitely a good choice!More

Excellent meal, quick and pleasant service, huge portions and great value

Simple menu but wide choice of Costa Rican food. Atmosphere very relaxed and friendly. Portions huge, very tasty and very reasonably priced

Drinks excellent, food tasty and plentiful

My wife and I went to La Nena at the recommendation of someone at our hotel. I ordered a mojito. It was fresh, no mix here, and served in a cold mason jar shaped glass with a handle. Excellent lunch!

Excellent lunch! So much food! I had Caribbean chicken with rice and beans and it was so good. Service was good and quick. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Cocles.
